"My experience with Dr Panero was fantastic! I came to him after 10+ years of low back pain and, more recently, pain in my hip and leg with shooting pain into my foot. I had previously been diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, but several attempts at physical therapy all proved ineffective. Despite this, a doctor I saw in 2022 suspected that the spondylolisthesis was the cause of my symptoms. When an early 2023 MRI (my third MRI total) came back totally clean, that doctor threw his hands up, out of ideas. So, I found Dr. Panero after many years of pain and firmly in the mindset that, at 37 years old, I would have to deal with the pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Panero performed PRP injections into the facet joints of my low back and my SI joint to address the low back pain. The PRP injections led to massive reductions in pain and a huge improvement in my daily comfort and wellbeing. "As an endurance runner of ultra marathon distances, comprehensive medical support to address myriad issues related to the sport is key for long term engagement. After a visit to this establishment, I was extremely pleased that my doctor had the training and resources to review my particular issue, which included imaging, with me in her office. (The image review in-office is NOT an option available anymore in primary care offices, indeed, most imaging office - I checked!). Considering my issue involved a diagnosis error from a radiologist at some remote facility, having a doctor to review test results with you is vitally important, if anything to address nuances only afforded by in-person review. Additionally, she was able to administer a follow up image to compare and diagnose my healing process. She also noted additional observations about the affected area that were not included in the other imaging reports. All these factors are vital to a full and complete recovery. To that end, I have trained thousands of runners over the past 20 years and I will be referring my athletes to BIOS for one overwhelming reason- this is the only sport medical facility I know of where an athlete can receive comprehensive diagnosis and treatment in-house, and most importantly follow up to ensure a sensible and timely return to training and racing.
