"Day 1 was approximately 1 star, day 2 was 5 stars so do with that what you will But day 1 appointment was terrible. For starters. I came in for a platinum retouch. Online says around $60 for all over color so I was quoted $79 in person. It came out to $79 + $35 to tone me and tip. Is toner not included in the price for a quote? They used 3 bowls of bleach/developer. 3 for a retouch. Insane really. Also they didn’t get to tone me that night (4 hours later). And my scalp was BURNING. Day 2: I had Cassie as the student and Janelle as the teacher day 2. They were AMAZING. Both. Cassie was taught so well. They didn’t charge me for the toner. As my scalp was still burning, and they found bleach STILL in my hair from the night before. I now have scabs/burns all over the back of my neck. Cassie really toned me cooler than any stylist previously. Exactly what I wanted. She’s a 10/10"
"(Apologies in advance for the long review) I went in 2/19/2024 and wanted a chopped, layered shoulder length haircut and some color. I spent SIX HOURS in the chair while the person doing who did my hair took 3 and a half to just put dye and foil sheets in. They continuously made mistakes and many other employees/students or managers came by to coach and or correct this person on what they were doing. I realize this is a school but I felt as though I was a test dummy who’s service wasn’t taken seriously whatsoever and even the managers (?) there didn’t seem bothered at all that this person didn’t know what they were doing as they had to be instructed multiple times on every last step while I watched them cut my hair unevenly and right in front of their higher ups too. Towards the end of my 6 hr sitting, upon noticing I was bothered and checking the time, one of the managers(?) even asked me why I even wanted them to finish blow drying my hair if it was raining out and “just gonna get wet again” even though they had me marked down for a blow out as well. I left because I was so upset and even was holding back tears in my chair especially halfway thru when I realized this person was in fact doing highlights on me even though that wasn’t the plan, but everything had already taken so long so I wanted to push thru and hope for the best…Nope. They gave me an unsymmetrical haircut, really uneven highlights even though I never mentioned doing highlights once and was specific about wanting fully colored icy blonde hair. (Which they charged me for) I walked away with horrible shape and extremely brassy yellow, horribly toned hair."
"My name is Kassandra Lozano I’m a future professional adaptive at the school. On 1/30 and 1/31 we have two amazing guest teacher William and Anna come to our school and show us how to do this creative haircut and an elegant updo. They were so nice and very helpful. I feel like I learn some really good techniques from them that I will use from now on. I really appreciate them for taking the time out of their busy schedules to come and teach us!"
"They always do a good job but if there’s anything Paul Mitchell can do better is for colored woman who come in with thick hair please please please give it to the colored people to do our hair. I know other races should learn and it’s a school but it would be better if someone with the same hair texture would do our hair it’s way faster and easier and that way it does not take time. I love this school and the effort but that’s the only thing I ask for just to make it easier on the others who have never dealt with thick hair."
