"EDIT: If I could separate the patient/ appointment system from the staff, I would. My doctor and team are thorough and professional. FIVE STARS. It's just hard to believe how impossible it felt to make contact with this department without driving in person. So many incredible leaps in outreach, etc. Way to go! I (ironically, because of vision being in question) drove from my little town to Sacramento to schedule an appointment in person. I had spent over five hours on hold over three days waiting for someone to pick up. Scheduling through mychart was not an option as I'm not established with your office yet. The office person said there have been issues for a while with the phones. The brand new office is beautiful and impressive. The disconnect with patient-centered care? Feels like a lot of ego at UCD. What do families do who can't take time from their jobs to sit for hours on hold only to have to take three hours to drive to the gorgeous new facility to schedule... months out I might add."

"Not sure what all the negative reviews are about...there seems to be a problem with the phones? If you're a part of the UC Davis system, you get a referral from your primary, and they call you to set an appointment. I've had no trouble at all. In fact, the staff has been pretty spectacular."

"This facility is not phone friendly. Their telephone line is useless. NO ONE ANSWER THEIR phone. If you need assistance, follow up, medication, or setup an appointment, don’t call them as you will just waste your time waiting on that hold music line. The only way to be able to do those thing is by going on the hospital and talk to the real person."

"I work FT, They have rescheduled my appointment x3 and when I called to reschedule I have been on hold 90 minutes 1 day, 64 minutes another day and 60 minutes today. While I am on hold I am working charting my own patients. Total lack of respect!!"

"Some good doctors but extremely poorly run office. Good luck getting an appointment. They overrode my doctor’s referral for an ophthalmologist and didn’t tell me I was scheduled with an optometrist instead. I had to wait a month to see the optometrist and then it would be months before getting an ophthalmologist appointment. I said I had vision disturbances after a PVD and was concerned it wasn’t clearing up after months . They don’t care and don’t listen. Very poor patient care. I hope I don’t have a detached retina and lose vision but they wouldn’t give a shoot . For s group that’s part of s hospital they are thoroughly clueless about potential emergencies, Awful, awful place!!"
