"In the beginning it was great but after Halloween everything went downhill. People were being extremely loud outside to where I went out and yelled at them, there were many problems with people lying and starting garbage and it was brought to Jessica's attention but nothing was done. One of my roommates was constantly starting stuff and she wasnt even spoke to about it. Second semester I was roomed with an international student who was trying to make everything about her and tried forcing the rest of us to clean everything and was constantly cranking the heat up to 80 when it was 70's outside! And for anyone with a mental illness I would not recommend living here! It will make everything so much worse for you including wanting to hurt yourself. Not everything was horrible but most of it was and I would not recommend anyone living here unless they want to have a crappy year"
"IF you’re going to make the decision to live here, be VERY careful about filling out your “about me” information, actually I wouldn’t even bother filling it out because they most likely don’t look at it when pairing you with roommates. When you have a problem with a roommate (or their dog, which are also not legally allowed but living here) absolutely nothing will be done about it. I have called (and left a voicemail) and emailed our building manager, Jessica, and I have not heard back in over 24 hours. None of the CAs have reached out except to tell us about a noise complaint that was clearly called in by one of the girls that I was unfortunately paired up with. Yes The Orchards has a very nice look to it, but in the nicest way possible I would not recommend it to anyone that I know."
"I’m an international student and. I don’t like to leave negative ratings anywhere, but I am going to be honest about my experience at the Orchards. First of all I think the price is wayyy too much for sharing an “apartment” with four other people. My roommate at the orchards put rice on my bed because I was going to take a shower and she wanted to use a pot that had my rice in it. (the pot didn’t even belong to her). Anyways, long story short, the situation was poorly dealt with. I was asked to move to another room and my roommate wasn’t reprimanded at all. When I moved from the Orchards because it was overpriced I didn’t even get a quarter of my security deposit. I admit that one of the blinds fell out, but I’m pretty sure blinds don’t cost hundreds of dollars. I was really uncomfortable living at the orchards, especially as an international student. I honestly wouldn’t recommend anyone living at the orchards. I’m living in a one bedroom apartment and my monthly expenses still doesn’t come up to $630 a month. However, I did meet a few great people so there’s a bright side to my experience. Excuse my grammatical errors...if any."
"I’ve seen some pretty nasty reviews lately and I want to first off say that those reviews are blown extremely out of proportion. If I could I’d give The Orchards six stars. I started off living in Milwaukee going to an all girls school where there was so much drama and I was miserable. I decided to change my major and move closer to home. I found out NWTC had an amazing photography program and had student living right across the street which was perfect because I can’t afford to live anywhere else in Green Bay or commute an hour and a half from home everyday. The first time I walked in to the Orchards back in January I was greeted by Kurt and he gave my family and I a lovely tour of the place. He then proceeded to explain what was all included in the lease which is a lot more than anywhere else. You don’t need to pay for your own internet or heating etc. everything is included in the lease so therefore it is very affordable compared to other places close to campus. I was a little scared at first moving in because the floors are coed but as long as you aren’t loud and disrespectful your neighbors will be fine. I made a wonderful group of friends and haven’t experienced the slightest bit of drama. We all get along very well and we hang out and watch movies and cook dinner together. I feel like we are one big family living in our home away from home. The service here is great, if you have a problem and no one is at the front desk you can call the on call number and they will be helping you the next minute. There are a lot of bonding activities available including game nights, presentations, and field trips. There is limited parking right on the property but don’t worry we are also allowed to park in the lot across the street by the school. YOU WILL NOT GET A TICKET UNLESS YOU PARK IN A NONDESIGNATED SPOT. Another thing I love about the Orchards is the property manager, Jessica. She is a fun quirky person with an outgoing personality. She will help you with any problems you have and is one of the sweetest people I know! She always says hi when she sees you and knows everyone’s name. I’ve seen people complaining about police presence but they are barely ever here. All apartments will have their issues and sometimes we just have to mind our business and let the manager and the police handle it, but it is definitely 100 times safer here than anywhere else in Green Bay. Every resident goes through a background check so they would never let a known criminal live here. I can definitely say the only thing I don’t like is paying to do laundry but out of that being the worst thing I’d say I am living in the safest environment for myself and my friends right now. Everyone is friendly and very helpful with getting settled in. This place has made me the happiest I’ve been in my entire life. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for students to live."
