"Such an amazing atmosphere! Don’t let the building be the reason your child does not attend! It’s a little outdated, however the staff does an amazing job decorating the halls. Ms. Ferguson and the office staff always have a smile to start off the morning. The system they have in place for pick up and drop off makes it a breeze. Our lovely kindergarten teacher Ms. Burks is so attentive, caring, and genuinely loved to teach. I am also a Alumni from Sacrmento Charter High School and can definitely say they are setting my child up for success. They mirror many of the same “Pilars” that they expect from both St. Hope middle school and high school. Academically they have surpassed my expectations that I initially expected. My child will be expected to read before entering 1st grade, as well as being able to do math in her head. They also have an AMAZING app called Dojo that helps track my students success. We are able to communicate with any of the staff members such as the gym teacher, music teacher, and office staff. This eleminates the excuse of “not having time” to communicate with teachers. I can’t wait to see how much more this program can grow! Thank you PS7!"

"I am a student who is about to graduate from Ps7 Middle School. I did not go to Ps7 Elementary. The overall atmopshere on campus is good, but for the first 6th grade year, it can get awkward if your student did not go to the elementary school. At first those students get preferential treatment, but mostly because the teachers know them. Other than that, the academics are very rigorous and the teachers care about each student. It's a small school, less than 300 kids. Bullying isn't really a huge problem, because everyone has their group of friends and it's a very tight knit community. The school is big on citizenship and becoming a better person.Extracurriculars are practically non-existant, but I hear that the school is intending to add new things for the 2016-17 school year. My main problem with this school is that it coddles the students. If your student needs extra support, this school can be beneficial. However, if they need a challenge or are more independent, another school might be better. I've seen that many teachers prefer to reteach the whole class which can disengage more advanced students. Overall, Ps7 is a good school, but your student will have to work for actual success. The grades come easy with minimal effort as the teachers give you every opportunity to pass, but understanding the content and learining to work hard can take more time."
