"I have held a netspend card for 12 years, as that's what I get my kids' money from their dad's SSDI on. Never really had problems with them, until recently. A month ago, I went to a local retailer, where I was sold incorrect product. Normally, you would take it back, get refund or exchange, no problem. Not this time, they took incorrect product back, refused refund, and refused exchange (said I had to pay IN CASH to get the correct product). I stepped outside to file a dispute on the charge, and the gentleman I spoke with told me "we can't do anything while it's pending (understandable), but we'll put the dispute on there once it clears. You'll have your money back in 7 - 14 days". It is now a month later, still have not gotten my money returned, so I called back again, to file another dispute, to get told by the lady today, that the original dispute was never even filed! Then she says that it falls under some class E bullcrap, that the only way I can get the money back is if I file documentation of the whole original incident! How can I get documentation, if I was locked out of the store and cops called? She said she needs documentation; but she'll see what they can do for me (not promising). Needless to say, tomorrow morning I will call Social Security and get the money direct deposited into my direct bank account that I have gotten since, and canceling both my netspend cards."
"I have been with Netspend for 20 years and never a problem until now but On April 4th 2023 my account was hacked and 987.00 was stolen out of my account. It had to be an inside job within Netspend because the person was allowed to purchase a card by using the speed delivery in 2 days. The card I had was only activated 3 days and all of a sudden someone knew I had funds transmitted to that account I live in Indiana and Netspend sent a card linked to my account to someone who lives in Massachusetts, and now I am told I have to wait 14 days for an investigation, I have bills that are due today and because of their negligence I have to borrow money to pay my bills. The real funny part is the day after i got the card I went to the ATM and tried to withdraw 600 dollars and they put a block on my card, and I had to speak to someone who told me I could only withdraw 300 dollars a day but the allowed the hacker of my account withdraw out almost a thousand dollars in the same day without blocking y card, so don't tell me this was an inside job of one of their employees."
"I closed my accounat NetSpend and asked for refund check. The balance on my account is over seven hundred. This was done on 02/10/2023. It is the 3rd of March and I still have not gotten the refund check. Even after a phone call everyday this has not been accomplished. They are the worst online bank account. There customer service is dreadful I am going to retain an attorney on Monday to get this accomplished. DO NOT EVER DEAL.WITH THEM. LEEann Williams."
"Have been with this company for two years, no problems till recently as of 12/21/22. Could not access my direct deposit. Called customer service and first female rep was extremely rude and hung up while I was speaking with her. The second male i spoke with stated a new card would arrive 12/23. No card !!! When you call customer service the verification questions they ask are ridiculous. To speak to a supervisor you have to pass verification. Was with Green dot for over 10 years. Never ever had to deal with a business like this. There reps are in India so there guidelines they have to follow do not apply there. I'm submitting a foal complaint."
"I have been a card holder since 2008. In the begining I never had any problems. I received my funds as guareented within 2 business days early. It was not until 2018 I noticed I was having problems with my card being blocked and removed and I would call in and they in truth replaced my card however they charged me so I broke down and went back to traditional banking. Fast forward to today. I use both tranditional banking and netspend and for the last 2 weeks I have been given the run around that I would receive a card within 2 business days expedited at no cost to me which now 10 days has not arrived and each of the 3 calls I have made I have been told no card was ever ordered. So today I am recording the complete call. 2 plus hours I have been on this call waiting and hearing lie after lie. LISTEN PEOPLE... It don't matter if you have credit issues, past bounce check issues or whatever reason maybe you just like getting paid 2 days earlier DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! The have names and recordings of false information told to me. They won't put a supervisor on the line. They claim "Let me check with our back office" and leave you on hold for 20 minutes to come back and say "Oh well we can not expedite a card except within 7-10 business days, They don't have a actual local bacnk you can go into. They silences the call and leave you on hold until you get tired and hang up becasue they are told not to say anything because they can't disconnect or they get in trouble so they leave you on hold then transfer you back to the beginning to have to go over the whole cycle again. SO YES I HAVE FILED A FORMAL COMPLAINT AND I AM SHARING THIS INFORMATION ALL AROUND TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW. 2 days ahead is not worth the lies and games these foreigners are playing. YOU CAN"T EVEN GET A US REP WHO SPEAKS CLEAR ENGLISH OR EVEN SPANISH..... SAME ON NETSPEND FOR THIS GARBAGE SERVICE."
