"Dealing with Blue Cross Blue Shield was the absolute worst experience I’ve had dealing with an insurance company…super unhelpful…super unprofessional…they don’t care about the person on the other line…they put you on forever hold … they push your approval off for three days … it’s absolutely ridiculous….my sister was in a crisis situation where she was going to drink herself to death…after 20 years we finally convinced her to enter a program and Blue Cross Blue Shield was the bottle neck that wouldn’t send the approval in for 3 days…I complained severely and then they threatened me with harassment…the only thing I wanted was to save my sister…they gave me excuse after excuse and said they were tied up in meetings …but yet when I said I’d drop a bad review they got on the phone…then they wouldn’t deal with me directly but pushed it off until 3:00 pm this was around 8 or 9 am…the operator lady said she communicated to her supervisor Becky who said she’d call me back and inform me of the status…I received no call…so we have been waiting since last night around 6:00 pm…we were up all night with my sister and we called last night and this morning they just ignore the critical situation and pushes us off…so this review is to let all those who are looking for insurance know that if you have a critical situation of mental health, Blue Cross Blue Shield will be a bottle neck to getting your treatment and if your situation is critical enough you may lose you family member because of this insurance. So Becky calls me back right and she talks to me all condescendingly about how she has other people in critical situations and I need to just wait my turn…I explained the critical situation and she held her guns after explaining that I was not going to permit that she was the reason for my sister dying…she held her guns to the time … with no compassion and no feelings and a condescending attitude…"
"Anthem Blue Cross is a JOKE. My wife was getting medicine that she NEEDS for over a year... All of a sudden they are denying the EXACT SAME MEDICINE. Now our Doctors have to request a PER TO PER Appeal? Because ANTHEM TRULY CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS!"
"I have been having the worst time getting my insurance changed and I kept calling in for help. It wasn’t going very far at all until I talked to Kierra B, from Kentucky. I had her pull up my account let her know the hell I was going through between Medicaid and Anthem. I told her all of my daughters information was wrong the name the date the provider everything was wrong. She took the extra time to help me with many many different resources links that could help me out and she also helped me get in contact with somebody from Medicaid. I have been calling Medicaid 2 to 3 times a week before my daughter was born to get all of this situated and I was not able to get a hold of anyone, but Kierra did and she transferred me over to them. After a four hour conversation with Medicaid, Kierra ended up giving me a call to see how it went and if I got the help I needed. Oh I have to say she was the nicest and most caring person I have ever talk to about insurance. If you ever get the chance to talk to her she is beyond amazing and I hope that she gets excellent credit for everything she’s done for me."
"I was an employee using the insurance I work for and still ended up falling into the loop of endless back and forth from inability to process the simplest claims to their useless customer service to readjusting claims incorrectly over and over and over again. I’m still getting bills from 2020 and 2021 preventative services . I hate this health insurance I rather just pay it myself than deal with idiots like these ."
"I haven't had to deal with Anthem much yet but so far they have been great. I haven't had any issues with them; visits get taken care of, I pay my share, no issues. It's so refreshing compared to my last provider that always had an issue. I also just hung up the phone with a customer service representative named Jennifer in Denver and she was SOOO awesome and friendly. So, so far so good."
