"Best value I have found yet anywhere. The room accomodations alone are a good value at the rate we paid. Big added value is the pool area with a little bit of something for everyone. Shallow kiddy pool with a short froggy slide, the bigger pool with slide, the large hot tub and the steam shower/sauna. The bigger slide is open 7 days a week with an attendant during select hours. The complimentary breakfast had sausages, eggs and waffles for warm choices. The breakfast attendant is courteous and does a spectacular job. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We had car trouble and the hotel staff was able to get us in contact with the local taxi and tow truck service. We were fortunate to have a third floor room with an excellent view of the lake. Black beach was less than a mile walk for my wife and kids while I replaced the alternator on our car in the parking lot. This is the place to stay if you have a family with young kids who enjoy exploring the North Shore"

"Spent three days at Black Beach Inn over Christmas. No snow but the hotel was decorated very nice. Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Without snow there were not many visitors there but we were given a lakeside room which was very nice and quiet! We did not use the pool but sounded like some kids were having a great time ."

"The room was clean and had obviously been updated from the last time we stayed here over a year ago. Our kids love the pool area with the waterslide. Main reason for the lower rating on the room is that our room did not lock properly. We didn't realize this until we were almost ready for bed, so we just used the manual locks from inside the room at night. Not a huge issue with us for this trip because we were there for only 1 night. It would have been a much larger problem if we were going to be staying longer as I would have concerns leaving the hotel with my room unlocked. Would also recommend bringing a pillow from home unless you want tiny & uncomfortable pillows."

"We enjoyed our stay at the newly rebranded Black Beach Inn in Silver Bay. Having a dog-friendly room was important to us. The room was clean, comfortable, in excellent condition. The beds were comfortable. The fridge was larger than many hotel fridges. The pool area was adequate. The free breakfast was all we expected it to be. The staff kept the breakfast area clean and well-stocked. (Suggestion to hotel: Consider dropping the Frosted Flakes and adding Lucky Charms.) We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area."

"Pet friendly was most important! The hot/cold breakfast was really good, even if we didn't get biscuits and gravy, like in the pic. Suzanne did everything she could to check us in to a good room. Perfect location for leaf looking and we hit all the waterfalls and the gondola! Liked the pool, hot tub and steam room. We splurged on the price tho."
