"My wife and I went to the St. James for a get away weekend. We had an incredible room. We had a pre-dinner cocktail in the Port and then a delicious dinner at the Scarlet Kitchen."

"This hotel is not family friendly, we were threatened to have to police called because out 2 year old was crying himself to sleep. They don't offer anything extra. No pool. No breakfast.. I would not recommend staying here if you have kids. The rooms are expensive for having nothing extra. We came for a wedding and regretted out choice of hotel from the start. The hotel and rooms were beautiful but they didn't have much to offer."

"Simply trying to book a room has been an awful experience. Told to call to make a reservation if I have a gift card. When I call they will not honor the internet price. Then ask to use the 20% coupon I got as a result of signing up for their newsletter. Told I can't use that coupon even though it says NOTHING about limitations in the offer. Talked to a lady named Missy and she was going to talk with her manager. Called back this morning and talked with a gentleman. I had to start all over again with him and asked to speak to a manager. He was less than helpful and said the manager was on vacation. I just want to book a room with you.... Bait and Switch promotional tactics - Truth in Advertising would frown on this."

"This is a beautiful hotel! It was so peaceful, and our room was huge. My only complaint is that our second night there, our room didn't get refreshed. We bought some coffee pods at Target. There was a big wedding expo, so we weren't upset. We understand. I can't wait to come back. Red Wing is a wonderful little town."

"Good and no doubt expensive restoration of a grand 19th century hotel. Beautiful recently-remodeled dining room with excellent servers and skilled chef. Free parking in attached ramp. Great food and attractive public spaces. Excellent shower (though without grab handles), and not a lot of storage in the bathroom to lay out hygiene items. Minnesota-nice employees. Disliked · Room pretty small and oddly designed; mysterious divider cutting off part of the space. Not as nice as the pictures. Great high-count sheets, but very very soft mattress. Bed didn't seem like a queen to me. No free breakfast (but what we paid for was great), and no swimming pool."
