Reviews
"Dog piss and dirty hallways The alarm randomly goes off in the middle of the night, and then everyone has to evacuate the building and the office never addresses it. Your mail it might get stolen. we had our car broken into thankfully the front office staff has changed but the people prior were pretty rude.. be on the lookout for irregular charges on your monthly bill. They charged us over $600 for water several months and did it and wasn’t going to say anything if we had an address and last but not least we saw unhoused people, jumping in the dumpsters which was alarming, because I have two small children."
"Just moved in about 1 month ago. Almost every week since has been some facility issues. This week water’s off, last week fire alarms went off for 4 days straight, and the week before that water was off again. Not sure if the complex is trying to pull a fast one on the residents and save some money on utilities. Or if the folks in the leasing office are getting to comfortable. Somethings got to change. This is not the maintenance that i was promised!"
"I would not recommend this property for anyone considering. While advertised as a "luxury" rental, this property does not meet the basic expectations of cleanliness, service, and amenities that you would expect for an apartment of this price. Some points to note: (1) hallways are always dirty and smelly. (2) animal feces everywhere. (3) gym looks good but doesn't have enough weights. If anything breaks it will take months to fix. (4) incredibly long water shut offs. (5) no security at all (i.e when we were moving in 9 months ago the agents told us that the mailroom door would be fixed. It still has not been letting anyone enter resident or not) When you're touring as a potential tenant, it looks great, but being a resident is a completely different story. Unfortunately, my wife and I will not be renewing our lease."
"We were very excited moving into this apartment however, after moving in our excitement faded quickly. Unfortunately the property is not well kept, and there are many “unforeseen” circumstances like garage doors breaking, all-day water shut offs, no hot water, incredibly disturbing fire alarm testing and more on a constant basis. I’ve lived in many luxury rentals in San Diego now and have never had problems like this. Please be aware when you are making your rental decisions."
"I would not recommend this apartment building for the price. I’ve lived in this apartment for just under a year so far. The first week that I moved in the first thing I noticed, was a giant puddle of pee in the stairwell. I immediately went to the office to tell them about it. They told me they would deal with it, and the next day, it was still there. I returned the following day and told them it was still there. This process repeated, (them looking me in the eyes, telling me they would deal with it, and then just simply not) for about a week. After a while, I got fed up with asking and left it alone, and the Pee simply dried up. Since then, there have been numerous occasions where the elevators in the hallways will have dog pee for a few days before it is cleaned and therefore the hallways and the stairwell will quite often smell awful. Not to mention the trash pick-up schedule is not always consistent, and the residents don’t follow the recommendations so quite often the hallways will also smell like trash. And the hallways are so long so you just can’t avoid walking through them every day. Almost every time I bring over guests the smells are something that they mention. The next issue I had was that my bike wheel was stolen from the locked storage room, which supposedly only residents have access to. When I told them about it, nothing was offered to me other than the advice to contact the police or the insurance agency. Then Just recently for the past couple months, there has also been a giant poop stain in my hallway inside the building. At first, I did not mention it because I didn’t want to go through the same process, but after a few months, I just got fed up with seeing poop on the floor. Every time I went to my car. So finally, I told them about it, and they said they would deal with it and did not. I ended up losing my key fob. And I asked them, considering these issues and how bad they have been about dealing with cleanliness if they could just waive the fee for me. It was only $60 it would not even cost them any trouble, considering how much they charge each person for rent and all of the fees here. Not to mention the fact that utilities aren’t even included within the ridiculous amount of rent that they charge. But it would have made a difference to me, and it would’ve made me feel a lot better about the situation. At least like they were at least trying to remedy these awful issues I’ve had to deal with. It was only AFTER I mentioned that I wanted money for my keys that they cleaned the poop out of the hallway. And then they denied my request for a simple $60 to pay for the keys that I lost. On a personal note, I don’t like how the amenities are closed so early. In my opinion if you’re paying this much for an apartment, you should be able to use your amenities at the very least past 11pm and some of them should definitely be 24 /7. But that is just a personal gripe. All I can say, is that If cleanliness is something that you care about, and if having a leasing staff who cares about your requests, won’t lie to your face, and will deal with issues promptly, are key factors in choosing your apartment to live in, then there are much better apartment choices for the same price or less. they have since emailed me saying they have implemented new cleaning policies (we'll have to see) but still have zero sympathy for the fact I paid $3,300 for 7 months and had to live in a dirty and smelly building. (that's too much money being spent to have to deal with such standard, basic, and easily manageable problems) I absolutely would NOT recommend this apartment. There are much nicer places available considering how expensive everything is in San Diego. Might as well get the most bang for your buck rather than gamble with weather or not this place will keep their word on "new cleaning policies" -- given they have a track record of lying to residents to their face."
