San Diego Marriott La Jolla

"Unless you can live at this hotel for free, I can’t think of any other reason for choosing here. This place is pricey, but its cost performance is terrible. As a hotel affiliated with a real classic brand Marriott, can you imagine the room is outdated like it shouldn’t be? It’s so nostalgic that I felt like I went back to 2000s’ nationalized hotel in China when I entered the room. It’s already 2024, time to move on and refresh."

"A Marriott in La Jolla- what could possibly go wrong? how about no water all day long- 9-5 scheduled- not even a plumbing emergency! did you think to mention this to your guests? flushing toilets? washing hands? how about a hot shower? seriously? they ended up slipping a note under the door in the morning to the entire hotel saying - today we will have only cold water- an improvement for sure but still- no hot water??? Despite its outstanding location we witnessed multiple hook ups for working girls if you know what I mean - I can't believe what we saw - There is no way this hotel does not know what is happening in front of their eyes- Cleanliness in the rooms is shotty we found a tube of lube left in the room - can I go throw up now? I want my money back"

"I stayed for 3 nights at a steep price. With no complementary wifi, I would assume that I would be provided with warm greetings at check out, so I asked for two bottles of water when doing so. No, apparently this Marriott drew the line at bottled water as a way to cut expenditure in 2024. When I approached front-desk to ask for water, I was met with nonchalance and corporate-trained excuses with why they are reluctant to provide water to customers who stayed more than one night at their hotel. No apologies and no courteous remarks, only eye rolls. What's worst is that after implying that I had received bad service via the Marriott automated survey system, the General Manage of this Marriot, Mr. Richard Uribe, emailed some very particular and interesting snide remarks at me. The rooms and amenities are obviously seriously outdated for a Marriott hotel in 2024, as many other reviews mentioned but what really fascinated me was the general manager of such a prestige brand taking 5 minutes of his time to review footage and wrote such a passive-aggressive email to me. Very funny but unfortunate."

"Was here for a corporate work event! Great location, great valet option. Parking garage structure was a bit of a mess. I believe there is only one way in and out so after the event ended, it took a good 10/15 minutes just to get out of the parking structure. I would recommend having an attendant at the exit to assist people with payments so the line moves quicker."
