"Where do I even start? Smoke, termites, mold... just a few things that we had to deal with during our two year stay at Wexford Manor. I guess I'll just start at the beginning. When we first moved in, we noticed there was a very pungent smoke smell underneath the bathroom sink. We gave Stephanie a call and were told that it may be from the previous tenant. Weird, since it's a non-smoking property and nothing else smells in the apartment. We relayed that to her and she had someone come out, caulk around the edges, and refinish the inside. That seemed to work for maybe a week, but it still smelled intermittently at oddly consistent times. We called Stephanie again, and she said it's an old building and since we were the only ones complaining about the smoke (which we had no idea where it was coming from), she wouldn't speak with the other tenants around us. Basically, we just needed to suck it up and deal with this pungent smoke coming from our BATHROOM. It wasn't until the person below us moved out a year later that we found out he had been regularly smoking in his bathroom and it was venting to ours above his, which was the source of the smell. It dissipated about a month after his departure. Surprisingly, they dealt with the termites quickly, but left noticeable holes in the wall where they had to treat it - and it wasn't just one area. Termites were located in the living room area and near the dining area. I'd also get things stolen from the laundry room (basket, clothes, etc.) and Stephanie's response? Oh, that happens frequently, we can't do anything. And they were unwilling to regulate it in any way to make sure it didn't happen again. Now, the BIGGEST issue we experience was with mold. Good God, it was awful. It was all around the edges of every single window and even got into some of our belongings which we had to throw out. Because the windows were poorly installed or sealed, we would get condensation on the inside constantly, to the point where it was dripping down the window. When we called Stephanie, she told us it must only happen when we're cooking or taking a hot shower, so we just needed to always have the windows open. There were a few things wrong with that. One, the condensation was round the clock. We'd wake up in the morning to condensation on the windows, or even after coming home at 7pm, it didn't matter what we did. Two, there was no way in heck I was leaving the windows open when it got as low as 40 degrees outside and raining. It took WEEKS for them to take this mold issue seriously, and that's only because we called Brian (corporate office) to handle it. Brian is the only reason they get the one star. He actually communicated well with us and actually addressed our problems. Unless they decide to hire a different on-site property manager, stay away. You can't keep blaming an old building."
