"PLEASE READ!!!!! My experience at Olympic & Olive was absolutely sickening. The leasing agent know as ( Rajonae Williams - Assistant Community Manager) is the reason I moved out a month after moving in. On the day of my tour, I waited 15 minutes past my tour time because Rajonae was off with a man that she was flirting with. She continued to flirt with this man in the office and slowly began to help me. Once she realized I knew the man after he had said hi, and I asked if he lived there, she became passive aggressive. She was very rude the entire tour, barely answered questions and seemed to have a negative uninterested attitude. My tour was at 11am in the morning, when I left I called her regarding the application and she said she'd send it immediately. Immediately turned into me calling multiple times all afternoon and her saying every time, I'll send it now. I did not receive the application until almost 9pm at night, after work hours and with that being said the apartment was already taken. I believe she purposely acted in such a way, so I wouldn't have a chance getting the apartment. Finally I get a different unit inside the building and I'm excited to move in. Much to my surprise I witness her walking by my apartment and car multiple times on different days, instead of attending to her desk! Finally I reported her behavior because I no longer felt welcome. She would call me and complain if my boyfriend parked in my spot and it wasn't my car, which is insane, seeing I spoke with of other residents that stated they had guest park in their spots frequently. Once I finally alerted her manager of her behavior, she allowed me to move out after one short month of hell due to a terrible leasing agent. This office has no standards, and allows leasing agents to dress as if they were simply running errands and speak without knowledge of the buildings requirements! Do not rent!!! They do not care for their renters."
"I've been living here for the last 6 months and everything has been great. The common areas have always been clean and the staff here is very friendly and helpful. Janae is the best! She made my move in process so simple and easy and helped me in any way she could. Thank you Janae!!!"
"I lived there almost a year in studio and one bed. Noise is a big problem there. It very noisy. Streets view is nightmare. Be prepared to walk up middle of the night or garbage’s removal early at Saturday morning. I was 7th floor and still noise annoying. The fire station , ambulances near building is bad. My suggestion to manager is please increase windows sounds insulation. Warning: Always copy your email to many team members . If it’s time sensitive. If you don’t send, the responsible person will answer you late and give you excuses to pay extra. The team is pretty good at that games! Don’t trust and give them chances! Keep copies till you leave. The deposit will back to you later than 21 days. Almost 2 months of moving out. I cleaned the place very good and still deducted $155. The studios doesn’t worth the prices. It’s way expensive with small windows. It is like prison and not good ventilation. price suggestions is $1800 something. Another problem was internet in common area near swimming pool, business and study area. was not working for 3-4 months and manager emailed us to go and get your own till further notice. Not fixed till the day I moved out. . Good thing, small problem was solved quickly in 2-3 days Always Move out in your 30 days notice , if you don’t manager will ask you give another 30days notice and pay for another month. It mostly managers problem there. Not customer friendly."
"Always love living in DTLA. Trying to find our 3rd apartment in South Park area. Janae gave us the best tour to show everything. She responded all our emails right away even not during the office hours. Nothing to complain! Highly recommended!"
"After being in Oakwood for 6 months now since August 2021, I can comfortably say that I am staying here for the rest of my 4-year doctorate study at LA. I was looking for a studio/1 bedroom apartment that offers great amenities and a strategic location. I can comfortably say that Oakwood was the perfect choice. It is really close to the highway, so any trip is 15-25 minutes going to West Hollywood, Venice Beach, Glendale, Malibu, or any other main areas of LA. There's a 7/11, gas station, Starbucks, Chipotle, pottery studio, Orange Theory studio, Subway, Korean BBQ, Brazilian BBQ, kebab house, escape room, and pet shop within a block! In regards to the complex itself, it's all locked by using a fob including the inside facilities such as the gym, pool, meeting room, elevators, mailroom, and apartment entrance. The mailroom has a secure parcel locker that gives me the ease of mind knowing that my shipments are locked. As a student, I really appreciate the business center which has 6 private meeting rooms that are sound proof and has a screen within different seating styles (perfect for Zoom calls and meetings) as well as a printer. The sky lounge on the 7th floor has always been a great hangout area for those nice nights. There is a mini dog park, a community garden, a gym, pool, and community living room on the 3rd floor. Other than that, my actual apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, closet and walk-in closet, and modern bathroom. The apartment is one of the newest in the area, and It shows with the ease of paying rent and other services you can request via app. More importantly to most of us, prices of their units are one of the most competitive in the market during my search and still are in comparison to what you get in terms of location, amenities, and team. Two people shine out within the building in ensuring that it is an incredible experience: Titus, who supervises the building during the evenings and is always so sweet and helpful with anything you might need, and Deanna, who recently joined as the General Manager and always ensures that everything is going perfectly and smoothly. I wanted to write this to make sure people have a recent account of how great Oakwood is and how integral Deanna and Titus are to this success!"
