"I was a resident of this apartment complex for 14 months. I decided to live here because of the location, and the amenities. I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment. The rent was a bit overpriced, but that is expected. The amenities were great. The pools are very nice, and saltwater so the chlorine does not affect your skin. Also, the pools are located in great spots that have sun for the entirety of the day. The hot tub is amazing too. There are bbq pits all around the property which are gas operated and work well. There is a security guard 24/7, and a parking garage. My car was never broken in to or damage while I lived here. The package center is only accessible to residents. This is helpful when package handlers use it, however packages often get left in the room and you’re forced to rummage through them to find yours. A bit inconvenient, but better than packages being left outside your apartment door. Only once did I deal with a solicitor who managed to get in the building, access the elevator, and knock on my door. Many of the neighbors are young students at LMU. They like to party, and if you know anything about LMU it’s an elitist nepotist school so many of them are spoiled and don’t like being told no. For me, I also have a social life so I didn’t mind it, so I just befriended the students rather than fighting with them. But if this is something that would annoy you as a resident, be weary. Management was decent, again I never really needed anything from them. Had a toilet issue once and maintenance handled it quickly. Had to replace a shower head and maintenance took care of it. Move in and move out was smooth. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because it was expensive, but living in this part of LA it’s a no brainer. 5 min drive from the beach, no crime, and great restaurants within walking distance. Municipal golf course 2 min drive away, and LAX is a 8 min drive away."
"My experience with Playa Del Oro and their leasing manager Nayel was incredibly disappointing. I had scheduled a self-guided tour, as advertised on their website. However, when I arrived a bit late for my appointment, they unexpectedly refused to show me the place. Nayel, the leasing manager, was rude and unhelpful throughout the interaction. When I tried calling to inform them of my delay, no one answered my calls. When I inquired about rescheduling, they didn’t even offer that option. The front desk staff were equally uncooperative and unfriendly. This kind of treatment from a leasing manager and the entire staff is unacceptable. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority here. I would strongly advise anyone considering leasing at Playa Del Oro to think twice and explore other options with better service"
"We have ants living in the walls, and I cannot get anyone to reply to me about actually fixing the problem. The maintenance people came in, took pictures, left then cancelled the request. The ONLY person who's been helpful have been the pest control people. Aside from them, most of the Decron employees have not been helpful at all. They said they'd come at 11am, and then with no communication showed up at 3:30pm. I've been told that they just need to not run the sprinklers for 1 day to let the pesticide settle, but they won't even do that. On top of that we've had to evacuate at 3am due to fire alarms going off for no reason, and they claim "power washers broke a sprinkler" like come on. It does *seem* like the fire alarm is fixed, but who knows, they leave flickering lights everywhere anyway in the most used hallways in the building. This place is quickly entering a state of disrepair, and it's not even the renters doing it. If they aren't willing to fix ANTS LIVING IN THE WALLS??? What are they actually willing to do for their tenants? Don't even get me started on the package room. Nobody picks up their packages here, so there's hundreds, literally stacked on top of each other, making the package room actually difficult to navigate. Amazon workers have all but given up, just leaving carts full of packages for people to literally dig through. The parcel locker only gets utilized 40% of the time, and it's a miracle when it does, if you have to look for your package, resign yourself to standing around digging through filthy parcels for about 20 minutes. Don't come live here, it's truly not worth it. Calling this place "Luxury apartments" is a cruel joke."
"I lived here for 14 months and loved every second of it! Incredible amenities, super fast maintenance, kind courtesy patrol, and a great location. The rent is very high which is a bummer, as I ultimately decided it wasn’t worth each rent increase. Pros: dog friendly, helpful leasing office, lots of amenities, my one bedroom had a great layout and an even better view, maintenance was always super fast, and the nearby neighborhood was a lovely place to walk my dog, also right next to Ralph’s which was nice when I forgot something for dinner, and right next to a pet shop so my dog got lots of treats. Cons: the building is a bit of a maze and my parking spot was pretty far from my apartment so I had lots of walking to do, they replaced the old carpet with a weird floor that makes you dizzy if you look at it too long, and I had a few boxes of dog food get stolen because they weren’t in the package locker (they were taken the day they were delivered), and the dog park can be rather dirty (though I think this is from dog owners and not PDO)"
"Summary: Safe neighborhood and safe apartment complex (24/7 security) Fast and Responsive maintenance Apartments and Community areas very clean Quiet (I''ve had no issues with noise) A little pricey Amazing, apartments are very large and clean, and they have the nicest staff i’ve ever met. They have a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, gym, etc. Location is central very close to grocery stores, food places etc. I’m here for short term intern housing through oakwood and I’m so glad I took the option. The apartment came stocked with towels, bed linens, dishes, pots pans, coffee maker, toaster, utensils, and a starter for toilet roll, soap, shampoo/conditioner, cleaning supplies etc. It’s also very safe they have 24/7 security!"
