Amalfi Apartments

"My parents never owned a home, so I’ve lived in more than 20 different places across three states, and this is by far the worst place I ever lived. The apartment is incredibly small, outdated, and overall ugly for $3,000+ a month. The building has the most incompetent, inhumane leasing office I’ve ever seen. They will charge you hundreds in unreasonable fees that they make up themselves for stupidities, and treat you like a criminal. I absolutely recommend that you go somewhere else, specially at this price point where you can find much better places to live."

"I held off on reviewing this place for a year. I've lived in simpler apartments and had good experiences, but Amalfi's didn't measure up. Here's the breakdown: Pros: Jasmine Vo was great at keeping us informed. Maintenance team was quick to respond and fix things. Rent was affordable for the first year. Cons: Elevator was frequently out of order, causing inconvenience. Additional parking meant going up to the 7th floor, making it time-consuming. Parking had blind spots, making it a bit challenging. Due to the blind spot, one of the renter hit my car but there were no cameras where my car was hit. Fire alarms were a bother, going off frequently for maintenance or false reasons and we had to evacuate the building each time. My stay at Amalfi's wasn't as expected, and in hindsight, I regret not choosing another place. When we wanted a month-to-month extension, they asked for an extra $500/monthly on top of the regular rates. They also tried to charge me for painting, although both the maintenance team and their manager assured me it wasn't necessary. I'd recommend carefully reviewing your invoices when you move out. Just sharing my experience!"

"Towards the End of my lease the management gave a new lease offer in which the rent was 4% above the previous lease. After my lease ended, I continued living on month-to-month. The management added a 25% fee to the monthly rent - the month-to-month fee. I was debating whether to continue at the same place or move to a different place for two months. I later decided to continue to live at the same place in the same apartment. My Understanding was that the management would give me a lease offer that would be close to their previous lease offer which was about 4% above the last year's lease. instead, the management gave me a rental offer that was 15% above the previous lease as the new lease. I asked them why the new lease was way above the last lease offer, just Within 2 months After my previous lease expired. Their answer was compared to the month to month fee it is less"

"I have been staying in this apartment for 2 years. Pros: Modern apartment, multi storey car parking, in unit washer dryer, very good maintenance team (will resolves issues in a day) , generally good people from leasing office, walkable to bart, vta, bus stop, grocery stores within a mile, nice and new play area, nice walking area outside, safe, you can stroll around late at night, swimming pool. Cons: Visitors parking (only 5 available inside apartment), blaring fire alarm once in a while, packages getting lost once in a while(although common in all Bay Area apts) , takes 5-10 mins to park the car if you get slot in 6th floor or 7th floor of car parking."

"We had a very smooth, trouble free move-in a few months back, thanks to Cecelia and Miguel. Amazing, attentive and helpful members of the Amalfi team make life easy for us. The maintenance staff is also always very prompt and helpful. Comfortable homes and good amenities. My personal favourite is the pool/grill area, always peaceful, clean and beautiful."
