"Avoid this mismanaged building run by an incompetent owner at the helm. Constant revolving door of onsite property managers. The only competent onsite manager quit because the owner is a major problem (that was 4+ years ago and it has been a disaster ever since). There were stretches where there was no on-site manager. Nothing gets done here and they cut corners big time. Projects are started and stopped and not picked up again for years (see pool, carpet, painting). Shared facilities and hallways are a mess because there is no cleaning crew. The only decent and hardworking people are the 2 maintenance crew who work very hard. The owner and onsite management do not care at all about tenants or their wellbeing. Zero communication to tenants, even on very serious issues like break-ins, mail theft, theft on people's balconies, etc. They just care about collecting $$$ here. Save yourself the headache and stress and do not rent here (even if the price is right and the neighborhood is cool). The 1 star reviews on here are real. Believe them. The 5 star reviews are the owner's family and fake."
"I have lived in this building for ten years and the neighborhood is great and our neighbors are wonderful. It's a real village-like community. The work crew and "Current" building manager are amazing and hard-working people. I love living here. But if I knew who I was renting from in the beginning I would have never moved my family here. While the environment has been wonderful and we love our place and the people we live next too, I have had the most difficult time with the property owner. Not only have we gone through I think five-building managers but two of those managers that I know of quit because of the unjust manner of the property owner. Tenants have had to deal with our building not being cleaned for almost two years, black mold in the laundry room, break-ins in the building, and months of unanswered emails for maintenance requests or complaints. It wasn't until the residents got together to push for legal action if he didn't get the work done. And that's not all, I have never met the owner in-person or over the phone because he rarely replies to calls and doesn't care to talk to residents. But he felt it necessary to aggressively confront me and my two year old son at the door. As I was coming home from a walk with my toddler son we waited outside the door for an older man with no mask to exit the building. He opened the door and before we could enter the building he blocked our way and demand we prove that we lived in the building. He didn't introduce himself or ask politely. Confronting me and my son with no mask and standing in our way of the door. The next day I wrote an email requesting an apology and he said No. He replied that he saw me and my toddler son (who are people of color) as criminals and wanted to protect the building. Our community then wrote him a letter stating that he had breached several renters' rights codes and that they demand he apologize. He replied, "Demand all you want, an apology will not be forthcoming". So, my recommendation for those looking to live in this building or any of the other buildings that Goldstone Management oversees Is look elsewhere. Do not rent from this property management. They do not respect their tenants and they do not care."
