"Renters/Future Tenants Stay Away!!!... Be careful on becoming a resident at Latern Cove. They are the worst Management team I have ever seen!!! The worst incompetence you will ever witness. I would have given them no stars if that were an option They don't please their tenants. They don't fix any damaged or broken items in your apartment. They constantly make excuses that they have been understaffed for the last two years. It takes them anywhere from a month to three months to address any maintenance issue and if you hold your rent so they can move their lazy bottoms they threaten to evict you. I spoke to a senior citizen that has been living here for 20 years. He asked management to change his carpets after 20 YEARS and they came up with a lame excuse not to change his carpets. REALLY SHOWS YOU WHAT THEY CARE ABOUT. One of the worst Management teams I have ever dealt with. Talk about self-interest and selfish behavior, Latern Cove tops the list. Do not rent from this place unless you love headaches and constantly have excuses thrown your way on why a maintenance repair needs months to rectify. This is what I have faced in the last 7 months: Damaged dishwasher takes 3 months to replace. Garage disposal takes 4 weeks to replace. Drafty windows with no insulation and weatherstrip; management will suggest to put on the heater on for 3 to 4 hours a day and get thick drapes to solve their useless windows from allowing the outside elements affecting the inside elements. Loud pipe noises coming from the wall anytime your neighbor turns on their faucet. Sounds like someone is screaming or dying. Furthermore, they increase your rent every year by 10 percent and frankly, I wouldn't be upset about it if they kept the complex well cleaned and well managed but unfortunately they feel entitled to charging hard working tenants more money because they can. It's unfortunate, the money I have spent here over the past two years was not worth it at all."
"These apartments would be fine if it weren't for the management team. Management will not respond to maintenance requests when their cheap appliances break. Our bathroom light broke and it took months for them to finally address the problem when they did finally fix it they completely destroyed the bathroom. We wanted to talk to someone about some questions on our upcoming lease renewal and left voicemails at the front desk for 3 months without a response. There is never a representative at the front desk even during scheduled business hours. They also implemented a new parking pass which will charge us to have a guests or an extra car. This was never part of the lease and there is an abundance of parking and is a very obvious money grab. The location is the only good thing about living here, due to the outdated apartments and terrible management I would not recommend."
"I lived here for 8 years and it was overall good experience. Pros: - Good environment. Water, fountains, trees, parks, walking/cycling. - Quiet neighbor. It is at the far end of Foster City, so no traffics. - Good schools for kids. - Throw trash anytime you want. - Local maintenance and management office staffs were nice. Cons: - Need to negotiate hard every year for the rent increase. - Expensive monthly utility fee. About $250/m - They started charging $30 trash valet fee which we never used. - Maintenance staff shortage. Takes months to get fixes. - We had our car break-in once in the parking lot."
"Before moving to CA, my husband had already idealized Lantern Cove for us to live in Family. The choice was right, it is gratifying to wake up and see a place of peace and beauty. I needed maintenance recently and was attended to in hours, very fast. I also highlight Mangala service, although at first I had difficulty with the language, but then she led and always serves us promptly and affectionately."
