Beach Park Apartments

"I have been a resident since 2019. I submitted service requests here and there over the years, but the past few months have been quite disruptive. Toward the end of 2022, a shower leak in my bathroom wall required a bathroom remodel after black mold and major water damage was discovered. I was without access to my bathroom for a month during the repairs. They gave me access to an empty unit for bathroom use. During a trip to the bathroom, I returned to find the workers (who knew I had pets) had every door to my unit wide open and my cat wandered out. This was extremely stressful for me and thankfully I found him later the same day. The leasing office staff was very supportive and later presented me with a thoughtful gift basket of goodies for my cat. Last month, my freezer stopped working. The service team responded by cleaning the coils. All seemed well. However, I went on vacation for 6 days and returned to the horrible smell of spoiled food from my refrigerator and freezer. Several days later, I was later given a replacement/used refrigerator that was noticeably dirty. I finished disinfecting and cleaning the used appliance by 3-4pm so I purchased a few food items. By 5pm the same day, it stopped working and I knew I was going to again have to throw out my purchased food items. Since it was Saturday, I was told the service team had gone for the day and would not be available until Monday or Tuesday. A brand new refrigerator was delivered on Tuesday. I was disappointed that I was given a smaller and older model which caused the Service Manager to apologize. Then the following day, the bathroom light switch broke and I am now unable to turn the light off. Also the recently repaired caulking on the bathroom sink highlights the poor quality of work done in the bathroom by the contractors (such as the pocket door paint job, toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall, sealant in tub is already starting to crack). I understand things happen, but this feels excessive. I was unable to get any compensation for these inconveniences. Although the service team (Andrew + Michel) & management staff (Angel + the lovely woman who answers the phone in the leasing office) have been pleasant, attentive and hardworking, I am heavily considering whether renewing my lease is the best decision for me. Update: I renewed my lease. Despite the issues I experienced, the great customer service (including quick response time & open communication from the service team and management staff) is enough for me to stay."

"After being treated poorly from another unreliable property management company, I contacted beach park apartments for a tour due to the need to move asap. They’ve always been nothing but very friendly, responsive and helpful. I highly recommend if you’re looking to move to the area. :)"

"I was skeptical of the place before visiting because it doesn't have great reviews online. Having lived here for a year, I truly don't understand why. This is a great place for anyone who wants a nice, fairly calm/quiet mid-to-upscale home very close to both the 101 and 92 freeways in a beach-like environment. Pros: - Quiet/clean community (no trash builds up on the ground; no one makes much noise) - Nice apartments - AC is not really necessary. The weather here is close to perfect, but a little on the cooler side year-round - Dog friendly - In-unit washer/dryer - Beautiful/colorful landscaping (nice variety of flowers and plants that are well maintained) - Management is friendly - Neighbors are friendly - Service requests are handled quickly and reliably - Proximity to freeways makes getting anywhere relatively easy Cons: - Some dog owners neglect picking up dog poop, which is especially frustrating as a responsible dog owner. - Planes make a lot of noise during the day (~7am - ~8pm) a few times an hour for 15-30s at a time because we're close to SFO and directly in the path of landing planes. The noise is barely noticeable with windows closed. We like to have the windows open, so we just pause our conversation briefly. For work-related phone calls, I close the window and problem solved. - We can hear low noise from talking voices through our bedroom wall at night (sometimes). This is not ideal, but we bought a white-noise generator and live with it. We've gotten used to it. It's just part of apartment living."
