"Dr. Eric is super sweet and very thorough. The office girls are quick and compassionate!"
"Beach City Dermatology took over when my Dr., who I had been seeing for many years from St. Mary's Medical Offices, retired. Everything seemed as if it would be a seamless transition, however, in the first year my new doctor left the practice...then the next doctor...who I really like, only started seeing patients at another office, further from my work. In the summer, this does not bother me because my schedule is more flexible. But I am a teacher and during the school year, I need either early appointments, 7:30am, or appointments after 4pm. Every time I have called the office, I am made to feel that I don't really matter and there is nothing they can do for me if I don't take off work to go by their schedule. I need to see the Doctor at least 2x per year...I have had things removed and have a career where I am in the sun. The lack of a schedule for a working individual is forcing me to find a more flexible office."
"Overall experience is: I'm just a number to them that can provide money to keep them in business."
"I've been with Dr. Gammer and his nurse Kathy for almost 30 years. They approach medicine as the science that it is, which is EXACTLY what I want in a doctor, not a host at a day spa. Dr. Gammer and Kathy are serious, focused, and concerned about their patients' well-being. Are their personalities warm and fuzzy? Not immediately. If they wanted to be warm and fuzzy and hold your hand and make small talk, they'd be psychologists because that's what they're paid to do. Dr. Gammer and Kathy focus on what they're committed to keeping healthy: your skin. See them more than once, and a professional relationship begins to develop -- and you start to get to know them. They both actually have a great sense of humor."
"Dr Gammer was reccomended to me by someone who knows I like a Doctor I can communicate with. She was so far off with this reccomendation. The office is in a nice shopping center. The front desk staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. But that is where the positive experience stops. The Nurse is intimidating and unfriendly. She acts like she is being bothered. I never saw her smile once. And Dr. Gammer has as much bedside manor as the boogey man. He is not the least bit friendly. He walked through the door the first time and I said "Hello Dr. Gammer". Expecting him to be outgoing and personable. He walked past me and flopped down on his stool like I was waisting his time. Never saying a word to me. Then looks over my file and says, " What are you here for ?" I tried to explain the things I was concerned about and there for. And he would stop me and ask questions that made me seem like I didn't know what I was talking about. As if I were hiding something. Or trying to pull one over on him. The entire time he seemed irritated and put out. Had me undress while he took photos of my skin. And spoke to his nurse like I wasn't even in the room. I would have been more comfortable doing a Playboy spread. I mentioned to him that he wasn't real friendly. And he said he was doing his job. I told the front desk staff of my negative experience. And the evil nurse sat back, gave me an unfriendly glare. And mentioned how I should probably go to UCI. Because I couldn't afford Dr Gammer. I was insulted when I told the Doctor it took me a little while to save up money for my visit. And he thought that was ridiculous. Dr. Gammer ended up sending me a letter that I recieved on Christmas Eve. That said I had too many things wrong that he didn't know how to treat. And referred me to UCI. Dr Gammer needs to learn how to be more approachable. If he is that miserable being there. He needs to retire. I hear he has a very sweet and lovely wife. I feel badly for her."
