"My husband and I took a breather on a work trip and are so glad we found this place. It's a little oasis in the city, with touches of old school elegance. Our room was immaculate and tastefully decorated, overlooking a gorgeous, peaceful courtyard. We were also pleased to learn it's a local, family-owned and run business, and we found the staff lovely, friendly, and helpful. Reading some of the bad reviews surprised me. Yes, I think I noticed the doors closing more than I might usually. And I survived! People freak out about the strangest things. We like places with some character, which usually means a little older, and some older buildings don't have the same sound protections as newer builds. For the price, I think it's great. We had such a good experience and were so relieved after some of the actually gross places we stayed recently for about the same price, we added an extra day. You can see that care goes into this place and that they work on the upkeep and updating in order of priority, like small companies do."

"Hotel review “4-star hotel my behind” My family paid for a room with 2 queen beds that were extremely uncomfortable. The sheets made every family member itch all night long. On top of that, they have no AC and you can’t control the temperature of your room. The only solution the hotel had to provide was, “turn the heat off to cool the room down” which helped nothing. We were sweating all night because it was so muggy and woke up so congested because of the heat. The shower has a weird height difference to the floor that when you go to step out you have a big drop to the floor, which almost made me fall out of the shower. Absolutely unsafe and ridiculous, being that I’m 6 months pregnant and nearly fell. There were holes all around the room and rust in various places. The pictures are very deceiving from what it shows on their website. We picked this hotel for a big reason of having breakfast in the morning for our kids and were told the kitchen is down for renovations and that it was posted all over their websites, which is simply not true. The price went from $111 to $170 after taxes and being charged $35 for parking. Oh and the steps to the parking lot are wet and slippery from the water fountain and have no traction strips, so be cautious if you stay here and don’t fall and get hurt, because I’m sure they will not care one bit. This hotel is in a very poor location. If you enjoy overspending for run down service and products, this is the place for you. I tried to address my concerns to the manager and she was rude and had no concern for the experience we had with this hotel. I would give zero stars if I could. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE STAY HERE and WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY."

"It as a great stay - room was clean and location was perfect for what I needed. I loved the sliding door and balcony in my room. Felt like I was at a resort - you don't often get that outdoor access in a hotel. I'll definitely return."

"Great place ! I’m traveling solo for business each week in North LA and this is a hidden gem. Nice clean, updated room with a few upscale touches. Parking fee of 36.00 for gated self parking. No breakfast right now, they are offering gift cards to online stores instead. Fast food and coffee nearby. Right off the 101 on Vermont and near Hollywood Presby"

"The staff arriving was not very friendly, the staff when we left were not apologetic, or concerned about our issues at all. I cannot believe that your location charges 36 dollars a day to just park your car there. You do not have any staff or security guarding anything. You don't even have guards on site. When we arrived and saw no one else in the parking lot we knew this was going to be bad. The only upside was that the hotel was clean. The room was small, the bed stated was a queen, and it’s more like a full. We have a queen bed at home, and the bed barely fits us, so it’s not a queen. The beds that are there are AWFUL! It was the worst night’s stay we have ever had at a hotel and will never go back just based on the beds alone. I was trying to decide if the bed or the floor was better to sleep on. I didn't trust how clean the wood flooring was, so I opted for the bed. It was TERRIBLE. We ended up leaving at 2am on the second night to go home, because we couldn't take the bed anymore. I get it that since we only stayed 2 nights, we weren't exactly high-end customers, but seeing the hotel in shambles, everything broken, and no real amenities. I can’t imagine any normal person that doesn't pay for rooms by the hour would stay there anyway. The reaction we got from your steward/front desk had no effect on us, as we were resolved to leaving to never return. If i could demand a refund I would, but i fear that would just be a waste of my time seeing the reactions we got from the rest of your staff. certainly, won’t be getting any more money from me or anyone I know. I've already had people change their locations and plans based on this experience and what we have seen."
