Hillcrest House Bed & Breakfast

"My husband and I stayed at Ann's B & B in January. Both the main house and the cottage are lovely. Our room was well-appointed, with beautiful linens, a comfortable bed and spotless ensuite bath. Ann is friendly and welcoming from the moment you arrive. The neighborhood of Hillcrest is also a draw, with cute restaurants a short walk away. Hillcrest House is way better than staying in a hotel. We'll definitely be back."

"Beauty, convenience, comfort, privacy and service abound! Owner Ann is wonderful to talk to and keeps her charming home and rooms in the most pleasant condition. Breakfast is a great time to chat with fellow travellers and with Ann and staff (Robert seems to know about everywhere to go). The off street parking, though presented here in the least flattering of photos, helps since you'll want to walk most places."

"Had an enjoyable stay. Ann and Robert were delightful hosts. The home was lovely, my bedroom & bathroom were spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable. For breakfast they have a nice variety of items to choose from. The location is a 15 minute drive to downtown and to the beach. I highly recommend staying there."

"Just spent 3 lovely nights at Hillcrest House B&B and am VERY happy we found this location! Ann is supremely thorough in her communication, and it is obvious that she has been in business for awhile and does her best to make sure that all of her requests/policies are shared with guests in her comprehensive email correspondence that was received once we made the reservation. The house is located in a great part of San Diego with quick/easy access to numerous restaurants and things to do/see. If you haven't been to SD before Ann has lots of suggestions of places to dine, experiences to have, and more. Her knowledge of the neighbourhood and city is impressive! The suite we stayed in was well equipped, and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE - both the bed and the bedding made me think that i could easily spend the whole day just relaxing there, and i did find myself doing a bunch of work on my laptop while snuggled in the soft sheets and pillows! Though we are late-to-bed and *not* early risers we did not experience the "grab-and-go" breakfast, but each morning it was nice to see that her homemade mini muffins were thoughtfully left on a plate for those of us who aren't able to make the breakfast window. (There is also coffee/tea/etc service available which we could have taken advantage of if we so desired.) Off street parking was available and we used it for our rental car. Ann had made sure to show us where the available spots were when we checked in, and we were thankful we didn't have to look for parking! Overall a wonderful experience which we will look to book again the next time we're visiting SD!"

"Our stay at Hillcrest House was an integral part of the joy we experienced on our vacation to San Diego. Our room & the whole house was impeccably clean & tastefully decorated. The vibe is relaxed but professional & it is located in the middle of where you want to stay. All of our daily excursions were a quick Uber ride away & when we returned in the evening, we walked every evening to great restaurants, bars, or nightclubs that were all close by. We ate somewhere new every night & all were excellent. The owner of Hillcrest House, Ann, was friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable, & always gave us good recommendations when we asked for them. We will DEFINITELY stay there the next time we travel to San Diego."
