Sonder La Ensenada

"This place is fake-nice, like many Airbnb’s. The facility is run down and cramped with the absolute bare minimum of amenities. Trendy looking furniture only goes so far when the mini-fridge in the room doesn’t work and smells strongly of mildew. Road noise was quite loud - had to make sure windows were actually closed. The road noise was nothing compared to the AC unit, which sounded like a rattling lawn mower. I guess it covered up the road noise. The provided white noise machine was an interesting touch but no match for this AC unit. Room was clean enough (I didn’t look too closely) and the staff was nice. Overall poor hotel, especially for the price. Would be worth maybe $80-$100 a night but no more. Not sure if you can do much better for $200 in Laguna though. It’s like flying Spirit but they are pretending to be Delta."

"Wonderful stay! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel. The location was convenient for where I was traveling to and it was nice being able to walk to shops and restaurants. The street is a bit noisy, but the fan from the air conditioning drowned out most of it. Will definitely stay here again!"

"All the staff members were quite hospitable. The front desk, housekeeping, management, etc. I frequently saw employees walking the property and working. As a female that travels alone, I really appreciated the employee presence. The shower in my 4th floor room was a wonderful surprise with its layout. This Laguna Beach Sonder hotel location is very well run. Kudos to all the employees; especially the lovely dark haired female that handled my New Year's Eve checkin at 2pm. The bed was super comfortable. The room was clean. I was able to acquire anything I needed from the lobby or housekeeping. Codes were sent to my phone promptly and worked easily everywhere. The rooftop lounging area is huge with lovely ocean views. Would definitely recommend."

"We really like this place. It is comfortable, so convenient, and very clean and well-kept. The ONLY downside is the noise—if people are talking outside, or babies are crying, it’s as if they are in the room with you. Maybe more sealant around the doors might help as there are gaps. The noise from the PCH is pretty loud, too, but it’s like white noise and doesn’t really bother us. We also had a room with a slatted bathroom door instead of solid and that doesn’t offer much privacy or noise and light prevention. We will definitely stay here again because it is a great value for the money. Parking is easy and convenient, also."

"My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time, the room was beautiful and convenient! Fun to check out and take pictures of, aesthetically pleasing to say the least. We were on the second floor on the corner closest to the road and we couldn’t hear any road noise at all! Occasionally sirens but that’s a given, I hear those at home. The staff was so friendly and helpful! We definitely want to come back next year/ in the summer just to stay here! We were less than a 5 minute walk from the beach and all these amazing restaurants."
