"This is a very solid Marriott hotel right across from the Arena and the Convention Center. The views are fun, and there are some awesome nightlife venues and restaurants right in the building. The staff is extremely responsive, so if you need a clothes iron or to stow a bag on your last day at your event, they'll take care of you quickly and painlessly. Easy to walk everywhere and a cool downtown vibe."
"Great hotel, nicely appointed. Awesome Views....But the rooftop is NEVER OPEN!!! There is always a sign-up that says due to inclement weather, the rooftop is closed. The sun was shining! I called in one day and they connected me to someone name "ME" or "My," I asked if the rooftop was open, she told me its closed on Monday is Tuesday, It was THURSDAY and it was Closed. It needs to be open 7 days a week. Staff with 1 bartender. The hotel seemed extremely busy, but no rooftop. So, we went over to Perch and the Wayfarer and enjoyed their rooftop. Hopefully they will fix that the next time me and my staff are in town."
"The location is great if you are specifically attending an event nearby. Otherwise, there is essentially no food or anything outside the hotel, and the area is not safe enough to walk anywhere so you need to rely on an Uber to even go a block over. The room was very mediocre. Bed was kind of uncomfortable and I have stayed at much cheaper hotels with way better beds. The food service is super inconsistent. My biggest concern is that they overuse a fragrance throughout the hotel. I have ended up in the emergency room twice during my stay. I left feedback after checkout and the manager, Steve, reached out with the generic response that they are sorry to hear about the experience. I specifically requested numerous times at the hotel for information on the fragrance used as I need to receive emergency medical care and testing, and was denied. Again I asked the manager and two weeks later my request is still ignored. At this point I will be contacting corporate as I travel for work and live out of hotels and have never had a manager so unresponsive in my years of travel. So many better hotels in downtown Los Angeles that are cheaper and far better service. I have had particularly great experiences at The Biltmore and The Delphi if anyone needs a recommendation."
"Stayed here when I was attending a black tie event across the street. Rooms have TERRIBLE lighting. I've never been in a hotel room where it was so difficult to see. I had such a hard time putting on my makeup and doing my hair, I couldn't tell what I looked like. Everything is set up as mood lighting, so if you're only there to relax and sleep, and you want a romantic date-night setting the it's great, but if you need to work or get ready for anything, forget it. I went to the front desk to ask for a lamp, they said they'd call maintenance and never did. The beds are comfortable and the shower is nice. Room is very small though, would not stay here with 2 people."
"Pretty bad experience given what we paid ($309 per night). Personally I think the experience is worth at max $200 per night. 1. Room design was very cheap compared to other minimalistic design hotels. Lots of plastic and very cheap. 2. Bed and comforter was ok, not great. The most stupid design is — the fire alarm is right above the bed; the white LED indicator would shine into my eyes every 5 seconds including at night. This really prevents us from getting a good sleep. 3. Bathroom supplies were there but were quite mediocre quality. Hair dryer is especially bad. 4. Ridiculous amount of hidden information for the booking. They tell you that their website always guarantee the best price, but the price dropped by $60 per night a few days after we booked it. We got a ‘city view’ with extra room fee but upon arrival, we were told that rooms above floor 16 has a door that leads to another room (which is always locked). But like why do I have to pay extra to have a random door in my room? We chose floor 16 but they gave us a ‘highway’ view instead of ‘city view’, by no standard should the extra fee be charged. 5. Valet parking is expensive with bad service. This information is hidden on website and we only got to know the price when we arrive. Fine, I could understand why they charge $50 per night, cause it’s downtown LA (although there are no other ways to get around LA). But, the waiting is crazy. We waited for 10 minutes at arrival for someone to show up and get the car. When we pick up the car next day, we waited for freaking 30 minutes in a super long line. Fortunately we got our car, some people in line could not even find their car. 6. To be honest, we stayed at a 3-star for $160 near airport the next day, both room quality, amenity and services were way better. No way that this AC should be a four star."
