"First impressions were a hard pass but we persevered on and overall the location is okay. Close to LAX but that doesn't mean quick turnaround from landing in LA to relaxing in your room. Shuttle took over an hour with one barely stopping at the curb to tell us he was full and keep waiting. When we finally got the shuttle to the hotel the wait continued with only one agent checking in a line of people at 10pm. Overall it took us two plus hours to get to the hotel and checked in. This was almost enough to cause me to just go somewhere else as there are plenty of other hotels around. Rooms were comfortable but nothing great. For example our double room only had one coffee for the morning and the patio had no seating despite all others having chairs. Gym was very comfortable with new equipment and clean and well kept. Only experienced the Hangar 18 bar/restaurant. Options for drinks were good, food options were okay and service was good. Prices were exorbitant as if we were still in the airport. I guess since there is little around to walk to they decide to stick it to you to eat on site. That's the general feel of the hotel is if you want the convenience of being near LAX you're gonna pay more and wait more than somewhere else. I expect more from a Marriott brand but maybe I'm wrong."
"Unfortunately it was one of those stays where so many things went wrong. 1 or 2 is fine, but too many, it just feels like they know they have a captive audience so it just doesn't feel like they're trying too hard. This was the host hotel for a convention so location was obviously the most convenient. Had a con rate with parking, notified the lady at check-in I had a car and would only need parking for 1 night, gave her my parking slip and she said she would take care of it. Later in the stay I checked my bill on the TV and saw I was double charged so then I could not do express checkout as i had to stand in line to check out and get the double charge removed. I requested the bill in email and she said OK but 2 hours later I still hadn't received it. I was still onsite so I had to go yet again to the front desk to get a copy of the bill to verify the double charge was gone. The heater barely worked. Felt like nearly no warm air was coming out of it so I called it in, they sent someone to fix it, then it still seemed the same. I noticed then it takes it about 2-3 hours to increase the temperature in the room by 1 degree. How is this acceptable? There is no breakfast buffet, free or paid, which seems lacking for a hotel in this class. There's a cafe downstairs but it's sit-down with waiter staff so it's not fast and there was a crazy long line. Only other option is Starbucks which also has a long line. This was really disappointing. Room otherwise was OK. But at the convention downstairs, the main room ran almost an hour late due to a plumbing problem. Is this hotel falling apart? Location in the neighborhood is not that good unless you need to be close to LAX. There are very few options to eat at this hotel or nearby."
"Rooms are small. Circa 1973. Prices on all food items approach gougeing. Employees are top-notch, friendly, and customer oriented. The one smoking area is hard to access. The hotel rate was reasonable. Access to airlines great. Shuttle great."
"Location is close to the airport but that’s pretty much the only positive. We were told our room had a microwave (which it didn’t) and then there was constant yelling in the hallways and doors slamming. But on top of that we got some hidden charges a few days later and didn’t get a receipt with those charges listed so we contacted accounting and they just told us we already had a copy and to look for it. Will update the review as the dispute process goes on and will probably upload screenshots later. WE WILL NOT BE GIVING THIS HOTEL ANOTHER CHANCE."
"Wow! Great hotel! We originally booked at the holiday inn express for two quick nights only to get there and find it was a total dump! Abandoned that room and got our money back and came here. Price was surprisingly only $20 more per night (although parking was significantly more at $55/night) The person at front desk was super nice and friendly. She upgraded our room for free to a pool view and was great at answering our million questions. This hotel is beautiful, the room is fantastic, and the pool is heated and usable in January. We would definitely stay here again the next time we need an LAX hotel. One noteworthy thing is that the restaurants are very expensive. $30+ for a basic breakfast. Yikes! We will eat off-site. Rather unfortunate though as we would prefer to just eat here. Staying here for the last two nights of a bigger trip and happy to end our vacation at this hotel with a resort feel by the pool. One more night to go, hopefully today is as good as yesterday!"
