"Be careful with the “Free Breakfast Included” scam. You need to get a voucher at check in for it. If you try to get it on the morning the desk lady will not give you one. Rooms are super clean though. Nice place to stay. Just if you want your breakfast included don’t forget the voucher, which no one tells you about."
"In spite of efforts on the part of both myself and Expedia, Sheraton Gateway LAX refused to grant a refund for a stay we were unable to complete through no fault of our own. The airline redirected us to another route on a red-eye flight due to missed connections from late plane arrivals. I would strongly recommend no one stay here as they did not even grant me the decency to respond to a telephone call message."
"At first glance, the place is beautiful! It is higher priced for food, etc, but a great location. Upon entry into the room everything looked great! We later discovered that there was black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and there was no fan in there for ventilation. Once after a shower, the entire bathroom floor was flooded about 1 inch or so of water and we used every towel available to clean it all up. The fridge was more of a freezer, regardless of the setting, so everything we had in there froze. Two of the elevators wouldn't allow us to pick our floor so we had to exit them and wait for another one. Besides those things, it was good."
"I was blessed to stay at this hotel after United delayed my basketball teams flight home. Upon reaching my room on the seventh floor with the help of the student workers, or as we like to call them, guardian angels, we looked out the window and realized there was a beautiful pool and jacuzzi. We had to get in. It was very early in the morning. Some might say even very late at night. Luckily, two very very very helpful front desk workers helped us to find our way to the pool and go for a quick swim. This was the most joyful moment of our entire trip to California. It was just what we needed after losing our basketball game on a buzzer beater three pointer to a 1-9 team that we led the entire game. Pro tip from a few of the friends we made at this hotel. The phones might be haunted! If staying here, definitely reach out to people, and don’t be afraid to really enjoy your time."
"This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. They definitely don't advertise the $70/night parking fees and the rooms are basically Motel 6 level. There's one microwave per floor, no water pressure and occasional bad smells coming out of the heating/AC system. But the worst thing was how they handled the valet charges - We were told at check-in that they would charge us for valet when we checked out. The card on file was close to its limit, so I wanted to be sure there weren't issues. On our second night they started charging the card on file over and over again and we couldn't get into our room. After going to the desk 3 times, they finally managed to get our cards to work again - no one could say why they wouldn't work. When we arrived back that night at 11pm, we were locked out AGAIN and a security person had to let us in. The next day, a second card I gave them started getting random charges that didn't match anything they said they tried to charge and the manager's fix was to have me pay the valet, in full, ahead of time to avoid issues..... They wanted to charge my card MORE when they can't explain the existing charges?! Worst hotel experiences of my life..... Stay away, as this place is a fraud."
