"There’s nothing particularly wrong with the place, and there are some restaurants and grocery within walking distance. But you’ll want a car if staying here, or to take the bus that stops a block away. The room layouts are well designed and furnished. Breakfast was great, actually. I just wished we had chosen a different location given all the activities we were there for were closer to Stanford campus. But that’s poor planning on my girlfriend’s work’s part not a fault of the hotel itself."
""Stayed" at this hotel for almost three weeks since I had family that was in critical care at Stanford hospital. On arrival near midnight, the front desk asked if I needed a parking permit and I said yes since I thought I needed one to not get towed or what have you. After my first night at the hotel, I proceeded to stay overnight at stanford hospital every single night during my booking, while other family stayed in the hotel without a car mind you. Imagine my surprise when I got billed for parking every night at a ridiculous rate of $24 per night. Nobody at the front desk told me a fee when they gave me a parking pass. And fine, I would've said it was my mistake if I did park there and paid the bill and not write this review. But to charge when I never parked there past the first night is unbelievable. Calling management did absolutely nothing, they weren't willing to waive the bill at all. Parking fees alone would've paid for a few nights stay. And they can't even verify if you've parked there or not so what even is the point of a permit anyway. If only I said no to the parking permit, I could've literally parked at Stanford hospital, ubered back and forth and it would still be cheaper than "parking" at the hotel. Stay away and find a hotel with free parking. Not worth it here."
"This is easily my greatest experience among hotel stays. The kind staff, the clean, well-maintained, and spacious room, the nice amazing amenities, the savory breakfast with white rice(!), the good neighborhood, and the easy parking lot access. Small details like building design, kitchenette, and lighting made me feel like this is not too different from my place. It's almost my first time not confused when I’m staying far from my home. I spent most of the time yesterday why this place has such a low rating for its value."
"Fantastic location. It’s very near food and supermarket. The room we were given was very huge. The internet service is excellent and not to mention it comes with free breakfast. There is a daily fee for parking but the tradeoff is it’s secured underground parking which is extremely helpful hearing that I keep getting told the crime rate of car theft is growing. I really enjoyed my stay with residence inn will definitely stay with them."
"Let me start with the positive. I've always loved the Marriott brand. You always know what you're getting. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The customer service when we checked in was excellent, and all but 1 employee was helpful and cheerful! The breakfast had a lot of choices and was great for a hotel buffet. One of the women quickly brought a new pot of coffee when it ran out. Now my issue with this hotel. I was at the pool, and there were about 8 screaming kids in the pool. There were a couple of adults watching them, but slowly, they left and were outside the fenced area and could not see their children. They also propped the gate open with a trash can. There is a sign posted that any children under 14 must be supervised. I went to the desk and explained the situation. Some of the kids were as young as 4 or 5 years old, up to maybe 10 years old. The manager said there was nothing they could do about that, and if the parents didn't want to watch their children, he couldn't say anything to them. I'm disappointed in the management. Why put up rules but not enforce them. We paid $1300 for 3 nights for 3 of us, but we were not able to enjoy the pool because of the unsupervised children that were running and screaming all around the pool. We moved all the way to the other end of the pool, but the children just came down to our area and were loud and out of control. I'm not even sure they were all hotel guests as they propped the gate open with a trash can. I'm disappointed but will continue to stay at Marriotts as I'm usually always happy with the hotel and the service."
