"Julian and the Grey Wolf team did a full repaint of our house, barn and fence. Let's start with the paint job: They had to work with the original, weathered 35 year old paint. Their work was outstanding. Starting with two coats of primer all around and then using hundreds of tubes of caulk to seal every joint and seam that our hot summers and rainy winters had opened up over almost 40 years. The amount of surface area, window joints, old trim and so forth they inspected and sealed was amazing. They also repaired or replaced the wood where required. Then it was two coats of paint on every surface - and they even went back for 3 and 4 coats for the most weather-beaten surfaces. The crew was fast, diligent and very talented. Let's talk about the process: I had a few painters come out and look at this very big job. Julian was by far the most detailed, offered the most explanations and seemed very focused on ensuring I understood what would be required for a high-quality, long-lasting paint job. He answered all my questions and offered advice where needed. His lead time was not the best - in fact it was the worst! He has a tight crew that works together and he does such great work he's booked out well in advance. His price was better than some and in the same ballpark as a few. I'm sure I could have bid the job out enough to save some money on paper but I'm quite certain the end result would have suffered - along with my sanity! He's not a color consultant but was very helpful in helping us think through our colors and painting innumerable samples innumerable places so we could make the right decisions. He also spent a lot of time with some tricky staining decisions, helping us understand the options and tradeoffs. For the really important interior door staining his expert did a great job getting the best result out of some challenging scratched up doors. While we made most of our big decisions up front, we delayed some trim, fence and deck decisions so we could see the samples as the painting came together. This was really helpful. Last, they did a great job with the details asking us about painting the house numbers before they put them back on the house, options for painting the chimney vents and so forth. We could not be more pleased. The foreman and main crew was on-site every day and left things immaculate. Julian was on-site most days and available by phone and text anytime. The crew are clearly experts and have worked together for years. In the photos below you can see a before (brown) and after (green with yellow trim) photo.
