He took the time to explain to me all the steps he needed to take in order to determine the cause of my plumbing issue as well as the cost. Once he determined the problem he thoroughly explained the steps needed and the cost to repair the issue. He was professional, friendly and extremely helpful! "Ok fellow google review readers, I was moving out of my house and noticed my washer cold water ball valve was leaking just below the cutoff lever. Not having the time to address this myself as I was under crunch time to get out, I called these guys to come out. I called on a Tuesday and got an appt on that following Thursday which was good news so far. I was told about the $90 ish call out fee which is fine. I was notified on Thursday 30 min prior to the technician being there which gave me time to meet them from work. The tech arrived on time and was super friendly. For all of this above is why I gave them 2 stars and not 1. Now let’s dive in. I showed the tech the leaking valve and he says yea ok lemme look at this and I’ll let you know what’s up. I walk away and can hear what sounds like a YouTube tutorial playing off his phone, then walking back in 5 mins later he’s on a tablet. He says ok I have your quote ready. I say, I don’t really need a formal estimate for that my guy it’s just a ball valve. He says ok sign here and I’ll get started, then I see the cost…. $754.00 to install a ball valve…. I lost my marbles. I said why is it that high??? He says that he has to take the plastic cover off and then remove all the old valves and cut the plastic water lines and install all new hardware and reinstall the plastic cover…. I said my guy only the cold water valve is leaking you don’t have to uninstall everything just unscrew this valve get a new one you probably have in you’re truck put some pipe tape on it and screw it in and check for leaks. He looks at me confused and asked me what I would like to pay…. I was like well for the cost of the part and probably about an hour of you’re labor…. He says ok gets on the phone with his boss and then said we are prepared to offer you 10% off….. I quickly told him to get out of my house. It took me less than 2 mins to remove the leaky valve, went to Home Depot and located a replacement. Unfortunately it was a long shank as they were out of the short but it works. If I was ocd I could cut it down with my saw but I don’t care and the washer hides it. I taped it installed it in 3 mins and it doesn’t leak. Part cost me $15. What a total ripoff. Even if the guy replaced everything they sell a kit for $50 that includes all parts and the pipes are the quick disconnect kind and they were exposed so it wouldn’t have taken this guy more than an hour tops…. I told the tech to have their manager call me but no one reached out. I guess I should have just looked closer at this before calling a plumber and done it myself then… live and learn."
