"URE and specifically Mary have proven to be very helpful as I transitioned bank accounts and the payment of rent. I experienced a bunch of issues with my bank and if not for Mary and her patience and understanding, it would have been very costly and much more of a headache than it ended up being. Thank you to her help and support. Top notch people!"
"Suzanne will not listen to you. She is very unprofessional, and negligent in terms of dealing with renters."
"Do NOT rent from Suzanne at URE! They are extremely unresponsive, unprofessional and work hard to try and cheat you out of your security deposit. They kept $400 for a cleaning fee but Never had our unit cleaned! Cheaters! We will never rent from URE again!!"
"Overall the Medical Arts Building and University Real Estate wasn't bad during my time there (5 years). The building was old, plenty of air and bugs came in through the seemingly century old windows, and the elevator functionality was spotty, but the walls were thick in the old building compared to new constructions and most appliances/things in the unit worked pretty well. The maintenance team was also a huge plus, always incredibly quick and efficient. I don't mind the rent increases that other reviewers referenced, it is fair market value. Unfortunately, the bad outweighed the good by some amount. URE seems to be a company that prioritizes incremental dollars from tenants rather than tenant experience (which is fine when apartment occupancy is close to 100% in the city). This was especially apparent upon move out. I had read the reviews so I assumed I wouldn't get much of my security deposit back but I was still hopeful. I figured after 5 years of on time payments and no neighbor complaints, management may overlook some of the (admittedly many) command strip marks on the walls after 5 years as they would likely have to re-paint for the next user. I also spent tons of time cleaning the unit to make sure I wouldn't incur a cleaning fee (the oven took me forever). In addition, I moved out two weeks early, allowing them to have the apartment rented for an extra month, more than covering any painting costs. Unsurprisingly, I was disappointed to see that I had a steep cleaning fee as well as the majority of my deposit charged for the painting of the unit. I also was charged for two lights being out... (Not that I mind the small charge for light bulbs, I just think it's indicative of the tenant experience). This type of "nickel and dime" management in an old building is frustrating, especially in an old building as things tend to break. I was charged a fee for socks getting stuck in my laundry unit when it was clear it was an issue with the very old machine. Even with these issues, I can't say I didn't enjoy my time at the Medical Arts Building, the location is nice and the staff is mostly pleasant. Just frustrating that they could be better."
"This company cares very much about the comfort and care of all its residents. They go to every extent possible to ensure all their facilities are maintained to the highest standards and that each apartment, condo, or townhouse is cleaned to the highest standards. I am a vendor for URE and have had the pleasure of servicing them for over 2 years. They have always treated me with professional courtesy, dignity, and respect. They make me want to go the extra mile for them always. I have witnessed personally the respect and personal attention they give to their residents. They are the best. The Manager, Suzanne is highly organized and works tirelessly each and every day, ensuring that each resident is listened to and satisfied with the level of service they receive."
