"I struggle for years, whether or not, I was going to write this review, but I feel like it needs to be said. Back in August/September 2022. I went in for a first prenatal appointment and they sent me downstairs to get an ultrasound when I did. They did not see the baby and told me it was probably too early. About 10 minutes later after I left the doctors office calls me and told me they’re worried it might be an ectopic to come back and do bloodwork and sent me on my way. I would have to do bloodwork each day for the next few days to see my hormone levels. By the time they called me back at the end of all of that I have already had my fallopian tube ruptured with the ectopy pregnancy. How can anyone let someone leave without helping him and that situation, and letting it get to that point where I nearly died."
"Currently seeing Doctor Andersen for endometriosis care. I have no issues with him, he is very kind and listened to all my issues and took them seriously. But the office in general is pretty disappointing as they seem to lack a sense of urgency! They wouldn’t let me see him initially, because my referral wasn’t good enough. I had to see one of their gynecologists first, which took about one month for me to get into see, and she was great, but referred me to see the doctor I initially wanted to see! It over a month for the scheduler to even call me about seeing the doctor. Then they couldn’t see me for three months. I went to my appointment five weeks ago, the doctor suggested surgery, he made me think it would be happening fairly soon, and I still haven’t heard from the scheduler to set a date for surgery. I tried contacting them on the portal, and it took 8 business days for them to even reply (even though it says to allow them two business days to reply). They only replied after I called the office to see what was going on, and even that reply took three days after I called. Basically they told me that the scheduler takes like 6-8 weeks from your appointment to even call. At this rate, my surgery probably won’t even be until the end of the year! I totally understand there is nothing I can do about this process, but it would have been nice if the reasons for the delay would have been communicated to me sooner. Other than that, Caroline Long and Dr. Andersen are great providers and listened to all my concerns and took them seriously, which many of my doctors have never really done in the past!"
"This facility examined my daughter who wanted birth control (diaphragm). The woman answering the phone didn’t know what a diaphragm was. She came home without a prescription and was told to get a Telehealth appointment from an online company in order to get a prescription. Excuse me…? So that’s the quality of female health care from a woman’s clinic. ""
"I was in need of seeing a Gynecologist after having a lot of bleeding which lead me to having 2 blood transfusions. First of all, it was difficult getting an appointment, despite the urgency. I finally got someone to listen to me and they told me there was a clinic on Fridays where the Attending would have a Resident. I took it, I was desperate. I showed up more than 30 min before my appointment. There was a screw up with my insurance and they told me they couldn't see me because I didnt have insurance. The lady at reception was very nice and was trying to help me, but her hands were tied. I asked to be put down as Self Pay and I would sort it out later. Apparently they couldn't do that. I have a long standing relationship with the Vanderbilt Health system. I have been a patient for 20 years. I have always had insurance and always paid my bills. That didn't count for anything. I left in tears (and the pain I was already in). I found a doctor in the Ascension system that saw me and the urgency. I am now having a bunch of procedures, covered by my insurance. Vanderbilt, you "Pretty Womaned" me, so I took myself and my insurance to cover my procedures somewhere else. I will not bring myself or my family back to you. I was a former employee, and the whole world now knows how you treat them. Nashville, there are plenty of other choices in town, don't be fooled that Vanderbilt is the "best.""
"Dr. Nielsen is the absolute best! She always listens to my concerns and has made this pregnancy so stress-free. At one of my appointments, she couldn’t find the heartbeat on the doppler. She assured me it was normal for how early I was and immediately walked me over to the ultrasound room to make sure everything was okay and to calm my nerves. I literally drive over an hour just to come here and it’s only because of how great of a physician she is. Vanderbilt has always been good to me and this office is no exception! I would highly recommend this location!"
