"There are better apartments out there, let this one be your last pick. Ill start with a positive: Maintenance is good here, they always came and fixed anything that was needed I lived on the 3rd floor, so I didn’t have any issues with loudness or too many bugs. The apartment itself was okay, the bedroom was big, with a nice closet. The bathroom and kitchen weren’t good. Okay now with the issues that I had, the small but important stuff that I recommend picking better options. 1. Parking. This area is in Hendersonville, not in the city. They charge around $30 dollars to park there and you can get a “reserve” parking spot for the price of around $70. You receive a parking cone that you have to put out there to block your spot. What made them decide the prices, that I don’t know. The response they will give you is “limited parking so it can get you a spot.” Two questions you should ask, 1. Charging a monthly parking fee, is it really the best strategy you can think of? It comes off lazy and greedy. The $30 dollars you pay, doesn’t even get you a parking spot in front of your apartment, you have to still park over to the side and walk to your apartment. 2. Then ask, $30, $70 charge a month, from at least over a 100 cars. Where is that money even being spent on? I can tell you it’s not on the parking lot that they have. Pot holes everywhere, the cement is falling apart. Next is the charge on trash, most apartments do charge for trash, $27, whatever. But most apartments are offering trash valet for the same price. Go with the apartment that offers trash valet for the same price. This apartment is putting in new cabinets so they can charge another $200 dollars on top of the already over priced rent. In a location in a very outdated part of Hendersonville. Overall, its the charges on top of your rent that makes this apartment, and maybe the entire company come off as greedy. If you take anything out of this review, you can find a better apartment out there that doesn’t go overboard with the fees and doesn’t feel scummy or greedy. It’s the small stuff that matters, and Hickory doesn’t have it. (Please ignore the possible response of by the company, it will be the same response like the rest of the reviews.) There’s better ways to solve problems/ or create different solutions. The residents deserve better. This apartment place just isn’t it. Save yourself the time and pass to the better apartments."
"Fortunately, I have not had the same experience as these other negative reviews. Sure, bugs happen, I have killed a handful of spiders, some stink bugs, and just some gnats and such, but nothing that signals an infestation. Parking can get a little tight sometimes, but you make do; Only issue with parking is people parking directly in front of the apartment buildings with no parking pass. Just park on the otherside if you don't have a pass. Pricing is decent for a 2 bed 2 bath in the Hendersonville area. And honestly, they don't rack up that many charges. We pay for pest, water bill, rent, trash, dogs, and parking. It is all listed in our lease and on the statement monthly, it is not seen as a surprise in my opinion. The only big issue we have is with how loud our upstairs neighbors can be, but this is expected when you live on a ground level apartment. I will not tell someone else how to live their lives and make them worry about being quiet to appease their downstairs neighbors because I know that they can hear my dogs Lol. Management has been nothing but friendly and helpful to me; But please... we all beg you to fill the potholes!! Lol."
"Been here for a while and this is my experience so far. Management is awful and they charge for literally everything other than breathing air but they may throw in a $25 fee here and there if you breathe too much so pack extra oxygen tanks. Living here makes me feel like I’m in the Eight legged freaks movie with the countless spiders all over the walls and crawling on my face at night and under the sheets and crawling on my legs during the night, literally everywhere. You can hear every creak and crack the upstairs neighbors make, just pray you don’t have young teens or obnoxious people living above you or it’ll sound like a Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath concert all day and night up there. Parking is awful and is the equivalent to parking at a football stadium most nights. The pot holes around the apartment complex and the road leading to the complex looks like the it was used for Artillery practice by the Army, so you better go buy a monster truck before you move in so you don’t have to constantly realign your car tires every other month. Pest control is no help either they come in and spray maybe 2 times and they dip out faster than a runaway dog with no leash. But yeah other than that it’s a great place to live!"
"I would highly recommend to not live here. Much better apartments in the same area. Very over priced for what you get. Infested by brown recluse spiders. When I moved out there was atleast 30 dead poisonous spiders under my bed. Also got bit by one of these while I lived here and that was miserable. Neighbors all have the same issues, but nobody will fix the issue when it comes to management. Also very difficult to communicate with your office you almost have to go through a corporate entity to get anything done. Horrible experience overall and much happier since I moved."
"My husband and I just moved into our new apartment here at Hickory Run. I was a little nervous considering the amount of traumatic experiences we had at our old apartment. The whole process so far has been easy and on schedule. We didn't get to view our apartment until we moved in, but I was reassured the apartment would be in great condition. The manager was true to her word because the apartment is wonderful! I'm super impressed with how clean and renovated it looks. All of the extra fees are shown on the lease before you sign. The neighbors have been really friendly. It's a lovely location and very quiet. Personally, we would highly recommend Hickory Run. We finally feel like we have a home!"
