"Over 4 hrs from our home.. But worth the drive. High quality care and everyone was pleasant. Dr Carson was excellent."
"This place has to be the worst as far as communication. I have had trouble every single year getting them to fax back paperwork so my son can have his emergency seizure medication. It should not take a month or more to send back a fax. I have had to call multiple times and have the schools nurse call multiple times. And not sure what the purpose of using the app is if they ignore it like the phone calls and faxes. I will be so glad when I get the things I need for my son so I no longer have to deal with this place ever again."
"Dr. Carson is amazing with our daughter! The Nurse currently working with him, and front desk staff were also friendly and helpful. We drive 5 hours to visit Vanderbilt Children's because of the wonderful care we receive. Thankfully, we should be able to do an online visit for her next appointment. We feel seen and heard and truly feel Dr. Carson is doing everything he can to ensure her Epilepsy is treated properly. Jennifer is the Epilepsy Advocate and has also been very helpful between visits. Negatives of the office being inside Vanderbilt Children's Hospital include- Nashville traffic is horrible, so we try to leave the hotel 45-min-an hour before her appointment. The parking garage is tight and busy. The elevator entrance/exit, check in stop is a joke. They stop you to ask where you are going and give you a sticker which seems totally unnecessary. They have an enter/exit signs that go to the same place and make no logical sense. They will yell at you if you try to just go to the elevator without checking in to get a sticker. At our last visit, we first talked with a resident who seemed very unfamiliar with Epilepsy. We understand it is a learning hospital, so we tried to be patient and understanding. Overall, for us, it is worth any inconvenience to be able to work with Dr. Carson."
"Dr. Boon took her time to answer all our questions. It was such a relief to finally have some answers and a treatment plan. The office staff was very kind to us too. It was well worth the 3 hour drive to see her."
"Absolutely wonderful! We are finally feeling heard and you have no idea how amazing that feels. It's definitely worth driving half way across the state. My daughter sees Dr. Carson and we have spoken to the other doctors when they were on call and they all have taken the time to listen to us and involve me in her plan of care. We did a self referral and they got us in right away and mailed us the paperwork. When we got there, it was a bit confusing to find the right office but the ladies at the entrance helped us out. Once we got in, we didn't wait long at all to be called back and the doctor came right in. I will not go anywhere else for my daughter's care."
