"We were visiting Nashville and needed to take our toddler somewhere to pass the time before our flight. I'm so grateful this was across the street from our hotel (the renaissance) Stunningly beautiful inside. The children's playroom is large with so many activities and books for kids of all ages. Lots of bathrooms. A great story time area with puppets and singing. 100/100 truly. A great free activity where kids truly get to be kids. I wasn't able to take many pictures as I didn't want to put anyone else's children on the internet."
"Very calm and peaceful environment. There are several monuments about iconic events in US history. Every thing is nicely presented with lot of details. Staff is very friendly."
"This is the most beautiful library I've been to. It felt like a library, art museum, and history museum all in one. I wish we had more time here because there was so much to see. I didn't get to see the kids/children's section but it looked massive. On the main floor there were a bunch of board games and jigsaw puzzles. They had a little art collection/exhibit on one floor, and a Women's Voting and Civil Rights exhibit which was very nice. It was moving and inspiring. On the upper floor there's maps and pictures about the history of downtown Nashville. There's a nice courtyard outside with flowers where people can read outside as well. The library interior is so beautifully designed and structured. I've never been in a library with marble flooring and grand architecture. The people we talked to were helpful and the free parking validation is great. You just have to park in the parking garage, grab your parking ticket and there's a machine that stamps the validation at the front desk. I think the time period for free parking is an hour and a half? I could be wrong. It's a huge library and I felt like I didn't spend as much time in it as I'd like due to time constraints and so much to see. But I'd love to come back!"
"One of the most beautiful libraries I've ever been too! I was astounded by the architecture and the grandness of the reading room. I went around 2-3pm on a Saturday and it was pretty chill, although there was a few homeless people there, so if you're bothered by them just be mindful; libraries are one of the few places meant for the public where you're not expected to buy anything! You can never have enough books and that's the only thing I'd ask of this library.... MORE BOOKS!!!"
"Great public library. Historic architecture coupled with modern renovations and digital innovation. Spacious, well run with excellent displays and programs. I’m most impressed with the children’s library, interactive and traditional games, live puppet shows and story telling. Outstanding services from librarians. Rebecca gave our group a great tour of the special collections on civil rights and voted for women. A beautiful courtyard with tables and chairs."
