Super 8 by Wyndham Olive Branch

"All I ask of a motel is to be safe, clean and a hot bath. I felt safe and the room was spacious and clean. A bit overpriced at $100 for a budget motel imho. Smelled like marijuana from the jump bc I believe some of the staff smoked around the entry. There was no breakfast offered although advertised. My room was near the front desk and across from a service room, the door left open from 6am on as the staff yelled to each other and made sleep impossible. There was lukewarm at best water, although the morning desk clerk tried to gaslight me and convince me it was hot and that I was just using my wrong hand to test it and that maybe I had a different concept of what constituted hot water. There was mold on the wall by and in the bathtub. Gave me 15% off but by that time I just wanted this motel in my rearview."

"I stayed here for a whole week. I use to live down here and recently moved up to Illinois. I had to come back for a funeral. The management was awesome! I told them I needed good internet to be able to work from the room all week. He told me if I had any issues to let him know and he would move me closer to the office. My room was missing the coffee pot and within 15 minutes they brought me a brand new one out of the box. Housekeeping was very polite and supplied me with what I needed, clean towels, toilet paper, coffee, garbage bags daily. I did not have them clean the room while I was there. I had one issue with hot water in the bathroom sink and within 10 minutes they were at my room correcting the issue. The Hot water valve was not turned on all the way. The Hot tub could have been a little hotter, but it was still relaxing. For the price, it was nice. Next time I come down, I will stay again."

"They have a wheeled luggage cart, but no elevator so I'm not sure the point to having a wheeled luggage cart. Breakfast pics are misleading as it only included some stale cereal and a few granola bars. Was asked if I was checking out every time I left the room and housekeeping was already in there stripping the bed when I went back to do a final trip to carry out the remainder of my belongings. Other guests were blasting music in the hallway and rooms next door early in the morning and nobody with the hotel did anything about it. The only saving grace for the hotel was the cleanliness and comfort of the room (minus the noise). You also have to pay a $50 cash deposit upon check-in, which is always suspicious, especially when they have the credit card on file."

"We love staying at the Super 8 when we’re in town for business. It’s in a great location because it has so much eating places in front of it and convenience stores around it. The rooms are always clean and it’s usually quiet here. They don’t have much of a breakfast but that’s ok. We just go to Tops BBQ in front of the hotel and buy breakfast."

"The hotel halls and entryways have a very heavy smell of cigarettes, of course it doesn't help when the employees smoke right outside the front door or prop the doors open on the smoking rooms when they are cleaning. The rooms themselves have a mildew smell, but it's manageable if you keep the a/c going all the time. The best smelling room is the pool area, thank you chlorine. Unfortunately, the hot tub is warm at best. The "all-star" breakfast is two types of cereal and juice, so that was really disappointing. On the whole the remodeling they spoke about looks good, but it smells like they cut corners on the painting and the years of smoking-past will haunt this hotel for years to come."
