Wood Ranch

"This was my first time eating at Wood Ranch and had a great experience. We didn’t have to wait long for a table on a Friday night, which we were thrilled about since the area was packed and the line for the restaurant looked long. Their text service to let you know when the table was ready was awesome as we were wandering some nearby shops and headed back when we got a text asking if we were almost ready. Once seated I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. The burger was good and huge. The fries were amazing. Everyone at the table was picking at my fries they were so good. Between the rest of my group, they ordered a top sirloin and the spicy chicken sandwich. Both of those were super delicious as well. We also had amazing service, the waitress was great and was quick to refill or bring sauces/etc."

"Wood Ranch is a top restaurant for my friends and I when we are looking to end the week with a solid dinner and drinks. The Irvine spectrum location takes a little more effort to get to, but it’s well worth it in the end. If I’m there for happy hour, I’ll get there, killer wings, a couple, Stella’s, and a side; usually mac n cheese or fries w Ranch. If I’m getting a meal, I will either get the pulled pork, brisket, or half chicken. They have plenty of sides to choose from, and all of them are great. I know they have a happy hour from 3PM-6PM Monday-Friday. If you go on a weekend or Friday night there may be a long wait. For the most part we usually get seated right away."

"We got the buckeye burger and western tri tip burger. The buns on the buckeye burger were ice cold - literally. The meat was served raw. Brussels sprouts were so dry they were hard, like chewing on dried jerky. The bread was mushy. The western tri tip burger meat was so dry , like it was made a month ago, got frozen and reheated for this meal. The au jus was salty as hell, you don’t taste any au jus, just salt so I diluted it with half a cup of water and it was significantly better. Best thing we had was honestly the ketchup. Wood Ranch isn’t like it once was. Kinda like what happened to umami burger."

"Wood Ranch was busy the evening of our visit, but once placed, our order arrived quickly. Baby back ribs were glazed with a delightful, sweet barbecue sauce. The ribs were meaty, and prepared just right. The Carolina pulled pork was tender and served with a tangy sauce which mildly hinted at the ‘vinegar based’ sauce served at traditional Carolina ‘pig pickin’ gatherings. This evening’s fare was just as tender and flavorful as any enjoyed in North Carolina. Before our meal arrived, we enjoyed an appetizer - fresh guacamole served on a portion of Red cabbage leaf with very unique salsa and fresh chips, accompanied by a Wood Ranch ‘Honey Blonde’ ale. Delightful. The sides - fresh Broccoli, baked potato (served with butter and sour cream on the side) were a good compliment to the delicious baby back ribs. The Carolina pulled pork was served with a unique and tasty cole slaw and a creative salad. The baked barbecue beans were great.. ‘Wood Ranch’ at Spectrum Center was ‘slammed’ when we dropped in for dinner about 8:30. Found two seats at the bar and after a while we were served by an obviously overwhelmed bartender. Eventually, a staff member who appeared to be an experienced manager took our orders. Food arrived surprisingly fast, given to number of guests during our visit. We were impressed with the number of guests being served at this Wood Ranch location the evening of our visit. The majority of staff we observed were obviously well trained and experienced in taking care of their customers. The evening of our visit, staff were moving about efficiently, working to make their guests feel as though they were being well taken care of. Our first encounter with a stressed, inattentive bartender seemed to be the exception during our visit."
