"Had a lovely time with my folks soaking our feet while having some drinks. The grounds/trails nearby were beautiful during sunset. The staff was super friendly too!"
"An authentic hot springs bathhouse offering this close to the city is a dream come true for many of us. Great concept, gorgeous space and needed alternative to traditional bars. Soak your feet while you take in a sunset tucked away by the river and historic Hot Wells ruins. The drink menu has been carefully curated as well and includes organic & natural wines, ciders, craft beers, locally sourced beverages and non-alcoholic options beyond soft drinks. They also offer charcuterie, and small bites like hummus, veggies & cookies."
"Caught the 8 pm soak, perfect for the breezy hot southern TX sunset. Exfoliating, detoxing, relaxing. You get over the sulfuric smell quickly, you can control the temp, and there's a cleansing shower within the privacy of the bathhouse. Host was knowledgeable and accommodating."
"Came across my feed on Facebook and booked it. Arrived a bit early, and the person who helped us was warm & friendly. She explained about the property and the springs. There were a few other folks there, so it was not crowded. We ordered off the limited menu and sat down to soak our feet in the FREE hot springs up front. It gave us a good view of nature surrounding the property. We were called to go into the back for the PAID service to soak in clawfoot tubs or a bigger hot tub. In the back are chairs to sit in while you wait as well. The chairs were dirty as if no one had cleaned them from being outside. Nothing that soap and rag couldn't spruce up. This was our 1st time there.. reservations for the paid service was at 8pm.. we arrived at 7pm. This was a great time as it was not too hot, and the setting suns rays played on the leaves of the foliage. The staff took us to our soaking area. There is an outdoor shower, towels, a table to put our complimentry cold water and glasses on. There was an electronic bell if we wanted wine or any other service that they offered, brought to us. She gave us instructions on how to turn off and on the water to fill our tub. And to be honest, we were taken aback by the "tub ring".. she says it's from the minerals in the water. I had to talk myself into getting into the water based on what I saw. I would suggest maybe they find something to cleanse it with. Once I got the yuckiness of the "look" of the uncleaned tub and what I called "rust from the pipes" coming out into my soaking water, (the staff called it minerals) The smell was of sulfur, which I expected. It was relaxing and soothing. We just listened to nature and the occasional giggles from the folks enjoying their time there. The lady said someone stole their tables in the common area which then made me nervous as the sun went down as to how safe we were...as you can see from the pics, it is open to the natural landscape. We ended early but had soaked a good amount of time. We felt refreshed and renewed. I am not sure how thorough the cleaning practices are as when the neighbors finished.. we heard someone else come in, and no one in between or any cleaning products smell. Overall, I will come back, we had on bathing suits.. I would strongly encourage bathing suits. If they stepped up the cleaning, this would have been an automatic rebook. Go try it out... my feet & skin are still baby soft and smooth."
"Soak your feet in hot Mineral Waters from 1,600 feet inside the Earth. There is a mystical and mind-expanding quality to soaking here when you think about how far the water has come to tickle your toes or fill your tub. My friend and I soaked in the barrel tub for 2. It's really small for two adults but we could't stay in very long anyway because the water is so hot. There is a hammock in this private room, so what was nice was taking turns soaking about 2-5 minutes at a time laying in the hammock or sitting with calves and feet in the water. I love the foot soak area. It's a surprisingly social place. Folks loosen up and talk. I haven't seen people stuck on their phones except to take pictures. The water is very shallow, therefore not much of a drowning risk for wildlife. It is very hot sometimes and less hot other times. Camp Hot Wells Staff are personable, and friendly. They serve light treats such as Hummus and pita, charcuterie, veggies and ranch. The drink menu includes beer, wine, and cider, as well as a few non-alcoholic choices. The staff do not require you to make a purchase while using the foot soak. If you choose not to make a purchase, be mindful of the space needed for paying guests. The foot soak is uncovered and outdoors. Walk with care upon this land, because in essence, it is being shared with the community by a private individual. The rumor is that an investor from the Pearl actually put the money down as seed investment. Certainly a Hot Springs soak in San Antonio will bring visitors to the city. Join the growing club of people who know."
