"After making a call to Matt, he contacted Ricky to come out and check why our waterfall was not working within 24 hours. He cleaned the filter and it works! Thank you for taking care of this in a timely manner."
"Ok so I really never write reviews for anything, but just because it's a big investment I thought I'd go ahead. To start off, I requested my pool back in September 2021 and it didn't get shipped out till mid April, of course there's no one to blame except for covid for delaying companies. Over all it was great experience with fiberglass pool guyz. They did say it would be ready within 21 days from pool being delivered but they didn't get done till maybe a month later due to delays of weather. Matt and Ricky were very helpful with all questions I had, even met the owner which he came out a couple of times, great guy(forgot his name). Only issue I had was maybe the fence they took down to work from the back, they said they would put it back up when finished which they did but took them a while, luckily I was planning on putting new fencing on back yard so I told Ricky they didn't have to put it back up perfect as long as it was up and firm. Well Ricky did that just him self since the concrete guys that were supposed to do it didn't do so, I think he even went ahead and cleaned the pool while he was here since I got back from work and pool was super clean. Other than that concrete looks nice as I expected. You will do about an hour of pool school which Ricky will show you everything on your pool system. On that note I wish maybe he would of showed me how to clean the pool properly and easiest technique, do I scrub first? Use the net for floating debri first? Do I scrub long ways? Maybe walls first? Being my first pool and not knowing I'm just doing all kinds of mess. But I guess maybe that's something you have to ask while he's there. Over all great experience!!"
"We had a fiberglass pool installed spring/summer 2020 and overall we are happy. Here is my honest review outlining the positives and negatives of our entire experience. Timeline we personally experienced: April - made all pool decisions such as location/placement, model, finish color, etc. May - made down payment, pool was ordered, trees cut down June - HOA and city permitting, pool delivered, dirt work began, pool placed in ground July - dirt work and pool prep continued. Prep work for concrete. Concrete poured, misc dirt cleaned up, fencing done (we did fence independently), pool cleaned and minimal pool school lesson. Aug 1st - finally ready to swim and enjoy. Jim and Matt are very nice, and typically responsive. You see them both throughout the entire process which is good. We asked a lot of questions and followed up frequently. Overall we were happy and had a good experience. Sometimes the contractors asked us questions that we thought they should know or looked to us for guidance on things that they should have been the experts on, so it left us a little uneasy at times. I would also suggest if you have a lot of trees, to consult with an arborist PRIOR to any digging or dirt work. The guys doing the dirt work will have no regard for tree care and will damage many trees with their equipment. They will also place dirt in such ways that can be detrimental to the health of your trees. I had an arborist come out just after the pool was installed and learned how much damage was done to my existing trees. To be fair, we have a very unique property that is almost entirely treed so it doesn’t make it easy for any type of construction. Fiberglass positives - supposedly less maintenance, faster install (but it will not all be done in 2 weeks - our experience was 3 months from down payment to done, during a busy season). I also like how the bottom of the pool doesn’t tear up our feet. It’s nice and smooth, but not slippery. Fiberglass cost is about the same as gunite, but long term maintenance should supposedly be less. Although after having the pool for a few months now, I can tell you that pool care takes daily work and the cost for chemicals is not insignificant. When we got quotes from gunite installers, they gave us really nice computer designs and showed us what things would look like. We did not get anything like that with Fiberglass pool Guyz. Luckily we had already seen gunite designs for how a rectangular pool would look in our yard. But I wish we had of been provided more design guidance and concrete options. My neighbor had a nightmare year-long process with her gunite pool install, so I’m glad we did not go through that. But I also know we didn’t have the same customization and planning resources available to us, so there are simply positives and negatives to both types of installs, you just have to weigh them. Our pool details - San Juan pools model “Wylela” (12x25, 6 foot deep end), granite color finish, no perimeter tile. I wanted simple and clean lines, with a natural water look. REVIEW UPDATE AFTER HAVING THE POOL FOR OVER 1 YEAR: My original review was 4 stars however I am updating my review based on what we’ve experienced over the last year after having our brand new pool installed. Numerous issues with concrete deck cracking. Jim and Matt admitted they had issues with the concrete company they had used. They made 1 attempt to make it right, but they essentially only had someone come out and paint over our concrete which did not address any of the cracking issues. There are cracks all over the place. Now they will not return our phone calls or texts."
"We intentionally sought out a local business for our pool project. We often find that the local companies also come with the best customer service. After much research, we decided to go with a fiberglass pool, primarily because we felt it to be the best long-term fit for the nasty clay in our region of DFW. We settled on Fiberglass Pool Guyz after communicating with Matt. I’ll give credit where it’s due: Matt was awesome. Unfortunately, our interaction with Matt was where our overall satisfaction ended. Our pool was scheduled to be installed in September 2020. It was COVID times and I honestly expected some delays. What became frustrating was we got to the WEEK that we were supposed to dig and only finally got a call notifying us that we were bumped to November after repeated texts and emails requesting an update. A few days in to installation a mysterious load of carpet (several rooms worth) showed up in our backyard. We found out someone on the crew just dumped it in our yard. And then they actually asked if we minded disposing of it ourselves!! They did clean it up after we declined to do it. We chose to have the cement around the pool connected to our existing patio. We have a sprinkler line that runs around the entirety of our house’s foundation and specifically inquired about what needed to be done for the line during our first planning meeting. We were assured that only one sprinkler head would be affected and that it would automatically be capped by FPG prior to the cement pour. Pool went in. The project took about a week longer than the original estimate but still drastically less time than gunite. Cement went in. We weren’t thrilled with the quality of the cement job. The lines, particularly at the pool edge, aren’t clean (see picture example). On the final install day I pointed out that a copper line running from the heater to the pool was still completely exposed/unburied. I was told “it wouldn’t be difficult to bury it myself.” We fired up the pool the following weekend for it’s first run and the air intakes for the hot tub began spewing water OUT instead of sucking air in. Contacted FPG and we’re told they will come check it out the following week. Stuff happens...at least they were following up. We got home on the repair day and found that the air intakes now worked, but the concrete around one of the tubes had been crudely chopped (see picture). Simply unacceptable on a $50k+ job. In March 2021 we function-checked all of our sprinklers to make sure they survived the freeze. We discovered that the sprinkler head, that was specifically discussed in planning, was never capped and now it was covered in cement and pushing water through the seam between the pool and patio slabs. We contacted FPG again. Jim said he would send someone out to clamp the line on either side of the patio. We confirm this with our sprinkler installers that clamping won’t cut it. We contact FPG again and told them an actual repair (rezoning or rerouting the line) was now necessary because they failed to cap the one head, as promised, during installation. I’m told Jim would need to approve the expense but that my request made sense (March 24). I don’t hear anything back. I follow-up on March 30 and April 5. Nothing. April 7 I reach out to Jim directly and even offer to pay for the service call if FPG will pay for the parts (We needed other work done, so it seemed overly fair not to jam up a small company, even of they made the mistake). We were informed that they wouldn’t be fixing the line and clamping the line was their only offer. This is absolute customer service trash. The repair is only necessary due to an installation failure - and a factor that was specifically discussed in planning. In the end, we wish we continued to save up for a couple more years and just gone with a more expensive build that hopefully translated to better quality. The kids love their pool and that was the primary goal, so I’m still leaving some stars for that and the parts that were done correctly."
"Jim and Matt were great from start to finish. Even with the issues with Covid they did a great job. Obviously some folks are the center of their own universe and don’t understand the issues this scamdemic has caused. These guys are local, professional and would have build a pool again in a minute!"
