"Dr.Choi has been there for our family when our son Huxley was diagnosed with ATRT. He has done an amazing job giving him all the treatment he needed and shows amazing compassion! He was the one who gave us Huxley prognosis and gave my wife the emotional support she needed not just from me! His team is amazing and would recommend him to anyone go thru this. We love you Dr.Choi!!! The Rogers Family"
"Dr. Choi, the best hematologist ever! Nice, patient, thorough, and very professional. Very blessed to have found him and all his group!"
"From the moment my son was delivered and transferred to Lutheran General in Feb of 2020, Dr. Choi was there the whole time helping save his life. My son was born with almost no blood in his body, he needed 4 blood tranfusions while he was in the NICU. We have been dealing with his anemic issues since that moment, for the past 13 months. Dr. Choi has been nothing but supportive and professional the entire time. He listened to all my concerns and help problem solve with what the issues could be. My son is now graduated to just seeing his regular Ped. from here on out. I definitely recommend Drm Choi and thank him for everything he did for my son!"
"I was referred to Dr. Choi by the family Dr when I made an appt for my son's enlarged lymp node. Dr. Choi. ran blood work and cat scan and said he doesn't see any concerns, my son is healthy and he probably was fighting an infection and it gathered on his left side lymp node and is stuck there. He said we'll continue to monitor it. We went back after 6 weeks and the lymp node was growing, he said maybe my son had mono at one point and its just taking time to exit his body. Again, accepted what he said, he's the Dr. After 2 months we returned for a 3rd visit and stressed our concerns. We said we want to remove it, he said we can if we want to but again he doesn't see any concerns but he'll refer us to a Dr that specializes in that are of the body (the neck) the Dr. he referred us to saw us for a total of 2 mins, he walked in looked at the enlarged lymp node and said this isn't my area, you need to see a ENT specialist, gave us a name and left the office. I made the appt with the ENS. Dr. Goldin(amazing dr) right away did a needle biopsy after a few days the results came back negative for cancer. Dr. Goldin placed my son on 20 days of antibiotics. After 20 days the lymp node had not decreased, Dr Goldin became concerned and scheduled surgery to have it removed and tested. Our worse fears came true, my son was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkins lymphoma. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. All I thought myself is Dr. Choi kept reassuring us, its not serious. Why didn't Dr. Choi, run more tests? Why wasn't he more thorough? Why did he insist on not having it removed? With a diagnoses like cancer, drs, especially those who specialize in ancology, hematology, should really exhaust everything and proper diagnose a patient. I am so thankful to Dr. Goldin for taking care of my son and treating him as a person, human and not just another patient. In my opinion Dr. Choi didnt do everything he should have, if he did, we would have caught this at an earlier stage and finished radiation by end of summer. So, bottom line, get a second opinion because cancer cannot wait. Dr. Choi is not aware and I will write him a letter explaining how he misdiagnosed my son, hopefully he will be more thorough on his next patient and properly diagnose his patients."
