"Worst emergency room visit for my one year old. First time visiting this hospital and last time I will ever take my child there. The er doctor disregarded my questions and concerns. Seemed like she was in a rush and with the snottiness attitude. The nurse was very friendly though. Rather take a further drive to a better children’s hospital. Very disappointed in my experience."
"Brought my toddler here over 2 years ago for emergency services due to him having asthma and it was the first time he had any symptoms. The staff was fine during the visit but little did I know the surprise bill I would get over 2 years later when I get a letter from COLLECTIONS. They never billed me directly and instead just sent me straight to collections. Never even gave me the opportunity to pay it myself first. If you have good insurance then this place is fine I guess, but if your insurance is a high deductible or anything other than full coverage then stay away because you will get big expensive bills months and even years later."
"I understand that we are at ER during the RSV, COVID and Flu season. We have waited patiently for 3 hours to be called and I said we are coming. My daughter first and last name was called and took wrong girl with same first name. They apologized and told us wait our turn based on urgency again. How is that a fair treatment when the mistake was made on their end."
"My 3 year old daughter stopped walking. I was advised to take her here, so I did. That was a mistake. This hospital has forever sullied my shakey trust in the medical system and doctors, the majority of whom are impetuous airheads and boneheads who answer with anything even if they don't know, just so they don't appear incompetent. Utterly superficial and disingenuous. We immediately told them my wife has gluten intolerance. They suspected my daughter had Guillaine-Barre, an immuno nerve problem. She didn't. They kept my daughter in the hospital for five days, barely doing anything. She was basically ignored by everyone but the nurses. The "doctors" visited once a day for 5-10 minutes in the morning. They wouldn't allow my 1 year old child in the building because of some stupid covack policy, making things even more difficult than they already were. They subjected my daughter to needles in her spinal column, MRIs, CT scans, and exposed her to radiation from X-Rays. All unnecessary. Most during the night, when a child should be sleeping. She had a needle shoved into her little hand for five days straight. ALL FOR NOTHING. I grew frustrated and tried to discharge her, when miraculously the head doctor shows up (who I never even met and who never even examined my daughter or looked at her information until I wanted to leave) and threatens me with some legal jargon about my daughter being a "24 hour care patient," and that they would use the government to take her away from me if I tried to leave. Jackbooted thugs. They discharged her with no diagnosis. My daughter was taken to a different place that did a simple blood test and detected gluten levels off the charts, 100%+! I had asked the doctors at Lutheran General if a gluten intolerance could cause her condition and they said no. Well, novice doctors of Lutheran General, you may want to rethink your career path, because it can inflame the joints and muscles, and it was the cause. Also, this was the first thing we told them. MY WIFE HAS IT. Instead of testing her for it, they used my 3 year old daughter, an innocent, precious child, as some sort of insurance money farm for a hospital stay with a bunch of tests which completely missed the mark. "Don't test for obvious genetic traits! SHOVE A NEEDLE IN THE CHILD'S SPINE!" -What should be LGH's motto All that emotional stress and life upheaval when a simple in and out blood test found the issue. If I did my job like this, I'd be fired. Full of incompetents, or corrupt academic med school graduates training students to run a business, fully steeped and entrenched in the veiled depravity that is our medical system. That was my experience."
"I've had to bring my kids here quite a few times over the past years, and the only thing I regret is not leaving a review sooner. The staff is truly exceptional. The consistent respect and warmth they extend to the children is evident in every interaction and procedure. As a father, it's reassuring to know that my children are in such capable and caring hands. These are not just professionals who are sincere in their vocation, but they also go the extra mile to ensure our kids are at ease. Every time we've come in, I see how much they respect and are gentle with the kids. They don't just do their job; they really listen. They keep us well-informed and are always open to discussing any concerns we might have, taking the time to break down situations, benefits, and risks. And they're always keeping my kids informed about what's happening and what to expect next, which I think is important. The front desk is on point too. Sometimes there's a wait, but that's to be expected anywhere. Overall, everything runs smoothly, and they make sure we're comfortable while we're there."
