"Working with Dr. Gould has been a great experience! Him and his team were extremely helpful and professional. The evaluations were done so in a kind, lively, and helpful manner. He puts a lot of effort and is very thoughtful and understanding. I am glad I got to work with him this year!"
"Went to Gould for a full evaluation, waisted my time and money. He was very dismissive of the symptoms that prompted me to want an evaluation and made no effort to go in depth on anything that wasn't a more "palatable" mental health issue. His joint waiting room was filled with ABA pamphlets, which is a therapy that abuses and traumatizes autistic children. He disrespected me, an autistic adult who has been diagnosed for years before seeing him, telling me all the ways he doesn't believe I'm actually autistic. This was, though, in our session where he went over testing results which took me months to get. The testing itself took months, some tests themselves took hours on end, he needed to get people close to me to fill out testing forms about me but only emailed each of them 1 of 2 forms. He then blamed this for the reason we couldn't have a session to go over my results but refused to send the rest of the testing to these people. For months I tried calling, emailing, leaving voicemails to get my test results and was ignored. Ghosted. He took payment upfront so this was frustrating to say the least. Cost me $700 out of pocket. It took me going to his office and waiting for hours, seeing another psych in the office who let me know he wasn't in and helped me slip my number under his door for him to call me back less than 24 hours later. After months of trying to reach him. During the entire diagnostic session he was extremely disrespectful and dismissive of my questions and needs, and he decided to nullify a 500 question test that took me hours because he didn't like the answers. All but one of the diagnosis he decided on were ones I went to him already diagnosed with. The real concerns about my mental health that I went to get tested for didn't get more than a sentence in the multiple page report he gave me. He does not understand or respect autistic people. He does not seem to understand mental health beyond being able to read the DSM V the same as anyone else. Please do not waste your time. Please do not give him your money. I am posting this review only because I care about other mentally I'll people like myself. I know how hard things can be when dealing with mental health professionals and I urge you to seek help elsewhere. John Gould does not have your best interests in mind do not trust him. This is just the tip of the iceberg but I don't have the energy to write more, I just want this review out there so that less vulnerable people are taken advantage of by this man"
"I went to Dr. Gould per a recommendation from my therapist. I needed to get re-evaluated for ADHD. In which, I did end up having among other things. Dr. Gould was so patient and understanding of my background and took the time to hear my story out and really listen to what other diagnoses I could have. He even has Saturday appointments for 2/3 appointments needed for testing. He was also patient to wait for the surveys my family and friends needed to fill out and waited for them to be complete in order to finish the testing. All in all it was a great experience getting evaluated by him and his team, and I appreciated the time he took to go over the results of the testing with me. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gould and his team to anyone needing to be evaluated. Thanks Dr. Gould and your team for all you did for me!"
"I had a great experience with Dr.Gould and received my results earlier than expected. I get overwhelmed easily. Dr. Gould and his staff were very patient and kind."
"My experience with Dr. Gould was great. He and his team were communicative and kept to the schedules they provided. I think that the bad reviews came from when his office was coping with a turnover or something, because he is on top of it now. His staff were all nice and welcoming. Dr. Gould gave me the feeling of acceptance and understanding, and also provided me with a very in-depth report on my risk of ADHD. I would definitely recommend him to people looking for an evaluation."
