"I was having foundation issues, so had several companies come out for estimates, including Knight Engineering, who was the only company with an actual engineer doing the inspection. The ‘trained’ salesmen spent only 30 - 45 minutes in my home, without any questions or detail and gave me an estimate on the spot. These estimates, for extensive work and equally extensive cost, were all over the place. Knight’s main engineer and owner, Tony Knight, spent more than 1.5 hours here, inspecting and taking elevation measurements, even going upstairs, which none of the others bothered to do. He asked questions and answered my questions in detail. He explained everything he was doing and seeing, as he went. At the end of his inspection, he sat down with me and went over everything, explaining his drawing and what he found to be happening. His level of expertise and his attention to detail was appreciated and his complete report, which I receive a few days later, was thorough and included a drawing with elevation contours, pier layout and description, a written evaluation, recommendations and estimate of cost. As an aside, Knight Engineering does not provide ‘free estimates’ like the foundation companies, but they do, however, send a licensed, professional engineer and, if you use their foundation repair services, the inspection fee is deducted from the repair cost. You can trust that you have NOT been ‘oversold’ in anyway, and you have a professional, stamped report and drawing to present for any reason necessary in the future. So incredibly well worth it! Also, they do offer a lifetime transferable warranty. The field crew was incredible and cleaned up so well I could hardly tell they had been here. They were very conscientious and thorough, taking care to leave things better than they found them. At completion, Tony did another inspection and retook the elevation measurements, to be sure everything was done correctly. He walked me through everything and made sure I was satisfied with the work. A few days later I received a final drawing and revised report with all the new data. When it comes to foundation repair, you want it done right the first time, so you go with someone with experience and integrity you can trust. I could not be more pleased with my decision to go with Knight Engineering. I was treated with honesty and respect, and felt that I was in capable, knowledgeable hands throughout the process. "Three men from Knight Engineering Services came to do cement restoration work at my house. I can honestly say in 21 years they did the most satisfying work of all the different contractors and handymen before them. During a plumbing excavation under my house old slab damage of about two feet by one foot came to light. "My house had foundation damage due to age. Naturally, I got 3 bids from various levels of foundation repair companies. Knight Engineering sent out a legitimate engineer. He spent an hour and half at my house taking measurements from all different angles, getting underneath the house to check the pier and beam addition, and measuring the exposed fou dation under the deck. Days later they provided me with a drawing of elevation differentials, that was measured to quarter inch differentials, with gradient lines, and to-scale measurements of the home.
