"Jerry from Bashans came out to re-stain our front door. When he was finished, after he had left, we noticed that the bottom of the door had a slightly different tone and texture compared to the rest of the door. Also, the color of the entire door did not match the color we requested, mahogany. Jack indicated this was due to the age and wear on the door (i.e. the door would not be able to get to that mahogany color). My wife spoke with Jack in order to set up a time for Jerry to come out to fix the issue. Initially, we thought the door looked fine, but as we reviewed it closer, we found not only that the workmanship was poor, but also, the color did not match the rest of the door. On the quality issue, you can clearly see the lines from where he used the power sander during the fix. Regarding the color, it was the mahogany we had wanted in the first place. So, apparently, Jack was wrong the first time, and the wrong stain was used during the initial work. Finally, when my wife went on to the porch, she pulled up the welcome mat, and discovered sanding dust on the concrete. He never bothered to put down anything to protect the porch, and we had just had the house power washed. Also, we discovered that he got varnish both on the kick plate and the concrete. I left a message for Jack asking what would be done to compensate us for this. At this point, the last thing we wanted was for them to come back out again. I never heard back from him. We had used Bashans before this, but will not make that mistake again."
