"Please read this review before applying or signing a lease here. I moved in here in November of 2021 and will be moving out in December of 2023. The application process was easy, but that is the only pat of my stay here that went smoothly. At move-in, the apartment I had been assigned clearly was not ready. The carpet had not even been vacuumed, much less shampooed. There was food in a cabinet from a previous tenant. So, I went to the office and complained a few times and they told me to move into a different apartment. That apartment had some issues, like a hole in the carpet and paint that is different tones on the same wall. I have had several issues since moving in. There is constant noise here. Between the constant sirens and neighbors with loud music, dogs, and vehicles, there is always something making noise here. The dumpster is almost always overflowing, and trash blows into the yard. This causes insect issues, especially during the summer. Also, the upstairs stays very warm during the summer, even with the air conditioning and several fans running. Maintenance usually takes weeks to address a ticket, so I stopped putting in tickets for issues. Then, when I went to renew my lease, I was told they would email me a renewal, but they never did. When I followed up on the renewal a few days later, I was informed my apartment had been rented. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place. I would rate it 0 stars if Google would allow me to."
"I believe we have the best view to wake up to in our magill apartment. So spacious. Neighbors are mostly to themselves, but the ones who say things are generally nice."
"I'm truly blessed to have come here and been treated like a normal human. I am disabled and have a variety of mental health problems that are hard to understand even for me. They helped me through the process and even took it upon themselves to make a couple phone calls and resolve an issue that LITERALLY NO ONE ELSE would help with and they absolutely didn't even have to. They allowed my Service animals without question which is more than any other establishment can say for themselves. We don't have everything in our new apartment yet, but we are excited on this new journey me and my husband get to take. Be the change you want to see in this world."
"Rooms are 'clean' upon move in, but expect holes in your screen doors, insulation in the vents, lacks of caulking where it matters most and maintenance that basically just doesn't happen. Seems like a management issue as the maintenance guys never seem to have the parts they need. Heed my words; management is content to sit back and suck the last bit of money out of this property while it falls apart. You will get charged ten dollars a day for late fees, even when rent isn't due yet and stiff-armed when you ask why. Also, the inexplicable $60 monthly fee for RUBS...? I didn't get any rubs, but I like being scratched behind my ears. Maybe if I actually GOT the rubs, this wouldn't irk me so much. Its about 200 bucks in randomness a month, and you won't be able to get answers, as the lady who runs the leasing office loves to say "she doesn't know anything." My question is... Who does? not the employees, that's for sure. Also, a large package of tea and beef jerky was stolen off my doorstep within a week of me moving in, so that's some pretty good looks- admittedly this has to do with the tenants more than management, but the combination of the two has me a bit dumbfounded. Safer than St. Louis, I'll give it that; so two-stars for The District. Would not recommend unless you use it as a lily-pad to get somewhere better."
"I I actually like living in the district other. The only issue I have is some of the riff Raff and not keep it in uncontrollable and people breaking up into the amenity center that don't even live in the district but management amazing. I love Jessica and Andrew. They pretty much take great career maintenance guys the main guys. Anyway. I love those guys. They whenever I've ever have an issue they are right there. They come take care of it. Other than that though, pretty good place, just need to update all the apartments"
