"This place is amazing. Everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace yet there is plenty of difficulty if you really want to push yourself. The whole school has a family type feel and everyone is very supportive. We also do a bunch of stuff outside of classes as well! It's a great place to make friends, stay healthy, and keep you feeling accomplished."
"The -only- legit school that teaches Shaolin Kung Fu from Song Shan. Any level is accepted here, no prior experience necessary. Everyone also cares about one another and wants to help you succeed! Also, cheapest monthly fee than any other Kung Fu school."
"A few key qualities about a martial art school are - discipline - high energy - Instructors paying attention to their students stances and forms - Structured This school unfortunately has none of the above. There is no perfection in the way forms or stances are done by the students. The instructors are very laid back and teaching style is overly loose. The lack of attention to details became very obvious when my child first went to compete at the Kung Fu tournament at Houston. Each and every kid at the tournament from the other schools performed their forms with absolute perfection, and that experience was an eye opener. That being said, if you're considering Kung Fu for workout then this school will work but not if you wish to participate in tournaments."
"I have visited many "Kungfu" schools in Austin and Round Rock to find a good one for my 8 year-son. "Good Kungfu school", with me, first, the instructors need to have the good skills but also the good spirit, attitude and can teach the students what are good/ acceptable manner, not only martial art. The second, flexible time and cost are my considerations too since I am a full time student and a single mom. My son could stay here from Monday - Friday from 5pm - 8pm for all classes if he wanted, and Sartuday morning too. He improved so fast his skills to have more self-control and concentrate. He also had great times in class (He always asked me to stay longer). That our goals for going to martial art. We moved to Round Rock and it's far from school, 40 minutes to go there. However, we are planing to back the Shaolin Wushu Center as soon as we can. I highly recommend this school everyone. I like to join it too when I can."
"I have been doing Taekwondo since I was a little kid and Shotokan Karate in college. I just moved to Austin and looked at many martial arts school from MMA to Capoeira to Hapkido, etc, but the one that stuck out most is this Shaolin Wushu Center. There are many reasons why you should come to the school. First, the instructor is very good and can been seen through the students. To me, to become a good student you must have a good instructor and I believe this is the place. Second, the class is more relaxed and informal than a typical Taekwondo Dojo or Shotokan Karate Class. Third, the 30 minute warm up is intense and challenging, which is good for everyone. The warmup consists of cardio, eye hand coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility through a series of sprinting, jumping, jump front kicks, aerials, lotus kicks, and so much more. If you are looking for a good workout then this is a good place to start. After the warm-up, the instructor will decide what the class will entail the following: traditional shaolin line drills, forms(wushu and shaolin), weapon forms for advanced students, applications for each technique, and sparring. As far as payments go, the prices are very reasonable compared to other martial arts centers. But the one thing that's different is that there are no fees for testing and belts! In the end, you can read all the comments and reviews you want but you have to come to class to fully understand why this is the best Shaolin Wushu school in Austin."
