About the Business
The Austin Kung-Fu Academy, located at 4631 Airport Boulevard in Austin, Texas, is a health institution that offers age-specific classes for children ages 5-12. Our classes focus on teaching kids how to control and channel their energy in a productive way through our Soft Strength training method. Students learn powerful self-defense techniques, as well as develop self-control and confidence.
At Austin Kung-Fu Academy, we emphasize developing Soft Strength to its highest potential. Students learn Choy Lay Fut Kung-Fu forms, how to generate Relaxed Power, how to use Blending Energy for self-defense, and how to use the Kung-Fu Rope Dart. Our classes involve working with partners and small groups, creating an atmosphere of support and improvement. No experience is necessary to join our classes.

"Aaron is my Sidai (younger Kung Fu brother) under Grandmaster Moy Tung, and his Kung Fu is solid. He's been training under Moy Tung since the early 90's and has also done a great deal of training in NY under Grandmaster Moy Yat. Whatever you want to do with Ving Tsun, he can show you how to do it - basic self-defense or the complete Moy Yat Ving Tsun system. He's also a master and teacher of Kettlebell training."

"I've enjoyed the cardio kickboxing classes so far. Rick is a great instructor and changes it up a little each time we meet with him (classes are Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). They have two different rates: paying by the class which is 8 dollars per class and a 10 class pack for 60 dollars. The latter in my opinion is a better deal. In addition, you can choose the days you want to use the class for. Sometimes I can't make it a certain week but it's not counted against me (balla!). Expect to get a good workout. Different techniques are taught so don't expect to only learn kickboxing techniques. I felt like some of the exercises that we do in the beginning of class ties more with tai chi/karate. Another plus? My classes have never exceeded three people. I do wish though more attention was paid on technique. If you're here to lose calories and have a good time, it's worth checking this place out."
