"My parents booked this hotel for a long weekend and two weeks beforehand were notified that the room was no longer available due to construction. They were still charged a $50 booking fee which is ridiculous. Will not ever stay here or recommend staying here based on how they conduct business."
"The room was cute and well maintained. Shower took awhile to heat up. The inn was super close to lots of great local restaurants. My only complaint is that I called ahead to ask if I could store a perishable gift for my partner at the inn. When I arrived, the manager showed me where the guest fridge was in the kitchen, and told me that my items would be fine. I put the gift (desserts for my partner, a recipe his recently deceased mother used to make). The next morning when I went to pick up the items, someone had eaten almost half of what I made. I wish there was a better system for guests to store perishable items."
"I wonder if your experience depends on the room you stay in? The Damen room itself was okay, but it shares a wall with the kitchen where everyone goes for breakfast, so there's a lot of noise when other guests are in there talking, doing dishes, etc. The window is also right next to the train tracks so light sleepers beware. The breakfast was okay, bagels every day we stayed there and overnight oats, with some baked items that ran out each morning unless I went early. Note basically everything is no contact so if you're someone who likes being checked in and able to talk to a front desk, that doesn't exist here. In general the location was great, but I think the price was a bit high for the room and amenities."
"Stayed here for my wedding. The location is great and the rooms are okay aside from the fact that the walls and ceilings are paper thin so you can hear everything. The staff doesn't do a great job respecting your privacy. For example, someone who worked there came into our room while we were in there without any heads up. It was uncomfortable. My biggest qualm though is that they charged a ton extra (like $300) for minor makeup stains on towels and sheets from when my wife was getting ready for the wedding. And they wouldn't let us cancel an extra day we had accidentally booked which is a bit more understandable, but it just felt like they were trying to squeeze every dollar out of us that they could when we had already spent a lot for 3 nights of the room we were in. So beware, this place will try to charge you for more than you bargained for."
"My husband and I recently stayed here for the second time. Not only was the room lovely and perfectly detailed-- even good lighting and a comfortable chair for reading --but, as was true before, the included "continental" breakfast was a sustaining treat for each of the three mornings of our stay. In addition, we had a couple of travel challenges -- including an extremely delayed flight and a piece of lost luggage that was bound for the Inn's address. The flight delay caused a series of changes to our arrival time but, at each juncture, someone at the Inn was more than gracious about making sure we could have access to both our room and our parking space, irrespective of our very late entry. And then, as it happened, our luggage had not arrived before we checked out but Teresa, the manager, was very accommodating and happy to make sure it was safe and available for us to have it collected. She kept in close touch. What a lovely and welcoming place to stay, literally and figuratively."
