"We rented the penthouse. I wanted a nice evening with my husband. The carpet was saturated with cigarette burns ;( The pool lady was certifably insane with her crazy rules. She wouldn't let us use the door for the pool. She made me leave my $20 drink in the hallway unattended. It was bought at the hotel and in a plastic cup. My clothes were on a chair and fell to the floor. They were buggy when I picked them up and she wouldn't let me use a pool towel to get back to my room even though my clothes were not wearable. Just a real piece of work. Kind of a sad waste of over $300.00. Very disappointed."
"So when entering the room, it was clean and modern looking. I don't understand why the hotels and resorts are taking the microwave out of the rooms. But they have a little fridge. The pool table area was nice. One con is the pool/spa/bowling is in another building on the property. The bowling alley was nice."
"I went to this location to photograph a couple for their wedding. I was thrilled to be there, because for a fall day wedding everything was great. Even more, I was very happy that the staff drove me and the couple around the property to take advantage of some beautiful scenic background this venue has to offer. I think reception setup is inviting and comfortable enough for guests to come and celebrate such a special occasion."
"While this is ideal location from Chicago, the hotel is deplorable. The rooms have little light, old furniture, disgusting carpet and bad mattresses. The best part of the hotel is the lobby, unfortunately you won't be sleeping there. The restaurant is limited and not kid friendly. The pool attendant is beyond strict and is more interested in enforcing rules than family enjoyment. We reserved this hotel strictly based on the amenities, however the pool attendant ruined our experience. Shocked this hotel has amenities for kids yet you are discouraged from using them. Bowling Alley is beat up and rarely open. Staff at the front desk is pleasant, however management hasn't addressed the pool attendants who make it miserable for kids. The work out room is great but if your kids want to work out be prepared for a lashing from the pool attendant. Absentee management all the way. My recommendation is drive a little farther, pay a little more so your kids will have fun."
"Not worth the price. It's a nice peaceful spa but nothing special for how much they charge. The tranquility room is literally a dimly lit room shared by all guests regardless of gender with tea and water. No water service was discussed even though it's advertised as part of spa. My massage was supposed to be deep tissue and the guy who did it was literally shaking to apply pressure, he needed more muscle."
