"Dud not stay overnight.the cabooses look like they would be fun. Nice small museum and store. Statures are beautiful. Loved watching the wolves and the bison."
"Stopped by here to see the wolves and bison on my way to Mississippi River to photograph eagles at the lock and dams. I would recommend a visit. Limited services in the winter, but best time to see animals with their winter coats. There is an entry fee"
"We stayed in cabin 4 and all I can say is wow. We were the only ones staying it was so quiet and beautiful..It's one of the cleanest places we have stayed. Lots of room even has fire place in living room. We woke up to deer all over in front and back yard. The bison even came to water hole. We will be back next time we are in Illinois. We had our wedding reception there in 2008. Can't believe what they have done since then. I would highly recommend..They staff was very nice too."
"My partner and I went there to celebrate my birthday and it was extremely nice. The animals are healthy & happy. And it's a decent exploration that takes about an hour and a half to finish. But the hike throughout the facility is really enjoyable especially on days where the weather is just right. Not too hot or cold. Sometimes its hard to see certain animals as most of them have the capability of blending into their environment. (Biggest example: foxes or cougars) But if you're patient you'll usually spot them in a few minutes. I will say the building(s) layout can be a little confusing. When we first began looking around I think we approach like two different buildings only to find there was no public entrance. Eventually we found the one that has a gift shop. But the other buildings must have been reserved for events? We're not too sure lol - but it's definitely a place we would gladly come back too. And I hope the entire staff, animals and facility continue to thrive, improve and stay generally well!"
"We have been to the park few times in the past year. The park is well maintained and the all day train ride is fun and enjoyable. Walking trails are really good and well maintained as well. Only improvement that can be made is to close viewable access to the elks and American bison. Every time we go they seem to be grazing far away and never had a good look at them."
