"I've been a student at this dojo for over two years and have greatly enjoyed the confidence, poise, and fun karate has brought to my life. Sensei Wilson is an experienced and patient teacher who makes sure you are always learning something new."
"Great community of people! Everyone there really cares about you."
"White Rock Kenshinkan is an excellent blend of traditional martial arts instruction and practical application with plenty of room for fun! Classes are formal and yet still allow for exploration of the theory and application behind the techniques, with a focus on practical application for real-life scenarios in the cul-de-sac. I have studied martial arts for over 20 years and have a black belt in another style, and I have found White Rock Kenshinkan to be the most practical of the styles I've studied. The blend of traditional karate, kobudo (weapons training), and tuide (joint locks and control techniques) makes for a functional style that will arm anyone with the training they need to defend themselves. Small classes allow for personal attention and a knowledgeable instructor who cares about each student make studying this martial style a good use of time. The icing on the cake is the access that each student has to masters of the style through attending multiple camps and seminars throughout the year and gaining insight direct from the masters themselves. I would highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking to study the martial arts. You won't be disappointed!"
"I started this class a couple of months ago with no martial arts experience and feel like I have already taken in a lot. The class is a great workout and will teach you real-life, practical application of the techniques as well as the art and history behind the style. The instructor is awesome and creates a laid back atmosphere where the students feel comfortable asking questions. I would definitely recommend this class if you’re at all interested in learning or continuing to study martial arts/self-defense."
