"My name is Cynthia Olnhausen-Ramos, I’m the proud parent of two Beta Academy Scholars. Our story at Beta Academy starts back in the school year of 2015. I homeschooled my son Elijah from Kindergarten to 5th grade. For financial reasons I had to transition him to a public school but I was hesitant to thrust him into the standard public school environment because of the concern for quality education and poor character development. It was a miracle that I got a hold of a Beta Academy door hanger. After researching test scores, online reviews and asking Beta administrators questions, I decided to send Elijah to Beta Academy. In the beginning he was very insecure and not used to the style of schooling but with the help of very dedicated teachers and administrators, my son blossomed into a strong, confident scholar. He met the challenge of the academic rigor at this school and it shows. He’s had perfect attendance most school years; made Honor Roll numerous times and received awards for Character which is very important to me as a parent. Not to mention, he is part of Phi Theta Kappa at San Jacinto College because of the Dual Credit Program he participates in at Beta Academy. He also received Academic Excellence from one of his professors. Because of the excellence I see in my son, when my daughter came of age, I enrolled into Beta Academy. She loves her teachers and their attention to excellent education. I have no doubt she will follow in the same direction as her older brother. I love Beta Academy and its’ personal touch when going the extra mile to make my childrens’ experience a good one. One of the things I put a high value on is their attention to building my sons and daughters character through the EAFK Program. In addition, as a parent I have been involved in numerous meetings involving the review and development of school guidelines and community involvement. My favorite opportunity was when they were reviewing test scores and trying to identify areas that needed attention and development. In that meeting, I learned from a third party how Beta Academy goes above and beyond to make sure rules, guidelines and excellence are followed. They stated how many ISD’s don’t do nearly enough as what Beta Academy does. That gave me such a sense of comfort and confidence in sending my children to Beta Academy. One 1/2 weeks after government closed down the schools, Beta Academy worked tirelessly to have the scholars up and running to the best of their ability. They went the extra mile to visit most of them and give them a gift to show their love and support during such a trying time in all of our lives. I fully support this school and understand their heart to raise up quality individuals that will impact our world for good.
